One of the Pegula girls tweeted out “So No Richards” it was supposed to be a text.

And they used the excuse she accidentally but typed/sent that tweet.

- ImThatGuy

they should have said it was a text to her friend and autocorrect changed it to richards... amirit

He’s going to Seattle.

Okposo and a pick/Prospect will go to Seattle.

Retain 15-20% on Okposo

- ImThatGuy

His MNMC might have something to say about that

Why 7? This will be our last time in the top 10 and we have The opportunity to get a massive stud at 7 that you could of got at 3 or 4
- gerbe75pts

Depends on the offer IMO. Is the deal for someone that can offer help in 1-2 years or wait for Caufield/Turcotte/Zegras etc another 3 years. Does Botts feel like we need to be contenders next year or that his job is safe to wait 2 years.

I think this board has one answer.

Ah yes every prospect should be going too 3 in any other draft.

Prospects are prospect until proven otherwise.

The Sabres need to compete and need actual NHL talent.

He needs to listen to all
Offers.

Also, if the team does not add talent they will be picking too 10 next year as well.

That’s why I know you hate it risto has that value
- gerbe75pts

Risto has value but I doubt Botts moves him unless some team calls with an offer he can't refuse.

Montour 5-6.7M
Reinhart 6-7.5M
Dahlin 5-8M
Olofsson 2-3.5M
Nelson 1.5-3M
Mitts 3-4.5M

That is with all of them playing up or past expectations in my mind.

- JVince11

Nelson might just not get re-signed and you want to give him up to 3 mil

Olofsson hasn't proved he is worth 1 mil per yet.. but who knows.

Mitts see olofsson comment but change 1 to 2 mil

I don't agree with you often but you're absolutely correct

This draft has two franchise studs in the top 2

But players 3-12 are all players that are going to be VERY VERY good NHL players. You're going to see multiple All-Stars in this draft.

Keep 7 so you have a player on an ELC that can contribute when the Sabres are hopefully making a good run.

Move 31 and make some smart trades and FA signings.

If Bogo plays as well this year as he actually did last year.... (yes I f'n said it.. Bogo played actually really well last year)

I think Dahlin/Montour Bogo/Risto could be a pretty solid top 4 IF IF IF style of play or coaching puts them in the right game plan.

Meh... He hasn't earned poop.
- jochfr

This is true. If Mitts wants to get paid he might want to rack up more than 25 points. It's actually kinda interesting, he has one year left. Suppose he has 40 point season. If Botts offers him a long term deal, how good of a deal can he get?

We here this every year.

The Sabres are going to get a cornerstone player at 7.

Risto
Nylander
mitts
Grigorenko
Etc etc

Every time it’s a player that is going to be an all star. I’m still waiting.

Gerbe knows his prospects very well. Sure he has had some duds but he knows the prospect pool very well.

7 isn't on the table unless he gets something insane he can't pass on.

Risto on the other hand is moveable in the right package

You're more likely to get a good return for Risto than you are an absolute steal for 7 overall

It'll be Olofsson, McCabe, Nylander, Smith, Nelson, Asplund, 7 OA, 31 OA, and 2020 1st that bring in better assets.
- JVince11

I don't see most of this traded. Botts wants young players that they can develop so guys like Olofsson, Asplund, 7OA aren't for sale imo. The others possibly but I don't know what we could get in return. Nelson and Smith have zero value, Nylander has some. The 2020 1st could be a piece along with 31. I'm just not sold on the idea we are gonna get guys like Zucker or others for our junk.

There is this thing called a salary cap that needs to be dealt with

You have to have players on ELC's that are contributing to your team to make a Cup run.

The Blues had it, the Bruins had it, the Hurricanes had it, the Islanders had it, etc etc

There are so many teams in cap trouble.

Vegas
Toronto
Tampa
Winnipeg

Plus you would absolutely have a bidding war for 7OA if the draft is “this good”

I have no idea what the D will look like. Lots of underperforming players, some would need to be moved for upgrades. Bogo did have some decent stretches last year.

The thing that gets me is most people saying "7 is too good to trade," but then you bring up names to trade 7 for, and people say "team x would be crazy to accept 7 for that player"

But if we had our way this is the last draft the Sabres are selecting in the top 10

Especially in a draft this deep
