Provorov is (frank)ed now - Nucker101
They have Niskanen, but without MacDonald there is not enough veteraness. May need to trade Ghost to help balance things out. Need more olds |

That's a ridiculous statement. He scored 5 goals and registered 12 points. He was 5th on the team in EV TOI/GP. A coach does not play and player that much who is contributing little. He was also 5th on the team in PP TOI/GP. - MJL
Would you call the MacDonald contract a solid signing? |

Absolutely. It's a fact. What does that have to do with the post you quoted? |

Amac gone? It seems too good to be true. In all fairness, it’s not his fault for his biggest drawback...his contract. Anyone would have signed it, it’s Homers and Hexy’s fault for giving it to him. Amac is and has always been a below average defenseman and would have been sent packing years ago if not for his ridiculous contract. I am sure he always tried his best, he just isn’t good. And so ends the reign of one of the worst footnotes in Flyers history...but don’t despair Raffl is still here. |

Im not going to pile on Amac..
I think he was a fine 5 or 6 dman with a contract that was over paid possibly.
The problem was the Flyers often had to pay him higher in the pairings and that exposed him a bit.

MacDonald did exactly what he was signed to do. Gave the Flyers a solid defender who could eat minutes and provide a veteran presence, especially for younger players. Every young player he played with relayed how he helped them grow as a player. He provided leadership and was deeply respected by his teammates.
Unless something changes, I don't see the sense in buying him out. |

The sense in buying him out is they don’t want him around in the organization any longer. They want to move on. Neither the GM or coach have a role for him |

Everyone should be holding their breath. Really no reason to buyout Amac whatsoever. - StepfordSam
I don't think there's another shoe dropping. Just Chuck "Nicest Guy Ever" Fletcher allowing AMac to continue his career elsewhere, probably. |

That may well be but I think the needs of the team should come first. If that's the reason why, that's commendable but why carry dead money on the cap when you don't have to after this upcoming season.

I read a rumor somewhere that Provorov has been lying about his birthday this whole time. He's really 30-something, explains his NHL-readiness.

Dunno, he just has that reputation of doing right by everybody around him. In this case, burying AMac for another season would be kinda ruthless, even if it makes logical sense. |

It proved to be a horrendous signing by every measurable hockey stat and result.

The did get that one decent partial season out of him.
That's more than they got out of Vinny and Bryz. |

Again, I challenge you to support your claims and back up these so called statements that I've made. I understand that your mad and upset because I've refuted your narratives numerous times and proven you to be wrong. That doesn't entitle you to your own made up fantasy facts. - MJL
And how am I to back it up? With comments from blogs weeks ago that we no longer have access to? The site allows you to go back a couple days at most. You are even defending AMac here as opposed to poopting on him yesterday |

There was no role for him because he simply isn’t good enough to hold down the 5-6 role on this team. He was not solid, he was mistake prone. He was so bad a couple years ago that they had to send him to the AHL. Just a bad signing and an over valuation that has finally ended.

He could have always asked for a mutual termination? I wouldn’t consider making 5 million + this year as ruthless just because it would be in Lehigh. They obviously didn’t think at this point he would be even worthy of a #7 role if needed. Just a horrible signing from the word go. But now it’s time to move on.

It proved to be a horrendous signing by every measurable hockey stat and result. Hartnell scored almost 60 goals in his first two seasons with the Blow Joe’s s. HEx was a monster in many ways. Ignoring aluminum members who knocked on his office-door doomed him

There is access to them in the archives. You can go back years in the archives on this site. Again, you're uninformed. You're inaccurate and incorrect about these statements you claim I've made. Step and man up and back up what you claim I've said. You won't because you can't. It doesn't exist. Just sour grapes on your part. So much that you have to resort to these tactics. It's embarrassing. |
