He had the right balance of high salary and expendability. I don’t think he was ever as bad as fans make him out to be. - Dkos
He gave the Flyers what they needed at the time. A minutes eating veteran defenseman who could play a top 4 role. Hextall send him down to make room for Manning. I understand they wanted to give Manning a chance but MacDonald was the superior player.

I wonder if 5 years from today we will be celebrating the buyout of Kevin Hayes.
I thought the smarter move was to bury Amac in LHV. Can’t figure out the logic behind a buyout.
It’s really no big deal either way. - Marc D
They have be looking at trying to do something else. No other reason why. Otherwise they don't need the cap space.

so you’re not a fan of trouba huh
he’s fine but not for ghost +
I’d rather keep the 11th pick too - Marc D
I think they keep the 11th and draft Broberg or Seider as the RHD of the future especially now that they acquired Niskanen as a bridge. |

I thought and still think that keeping Amac at LHV was the thing to do but I wonder if this move has roots in a potential labor situation in 20-21. |

I called Mac getting bought out from the very start. Sending him down to save cap space was only wishful thinking, especially with Fletcher having a history with buying out big deals (Vanek). Respectfully, it’s the right move. The Flyers need move on and allow Mac to continue his career in the nhl if possible. |

It makes more sense to me to carry him for a year in LHV and be done with the cap hit in one year, rather then get stuck with the extra ~2M cap hit next season. |

There is access to them in the archives. You can go back years in the archives on this site. Again, you're uninformed. You're inaccurate and incorrect about these statements you claim I've made. Step and man up and back up what you claim I've said. You won't because you can't. It doesn't exist. Just sour grapes on your part. So much that you have to resort to these tactics. It's embarrassing. - MJL
Please enlighten me on where these Archives are if you are so intent on me quoting your constant flip flopping with AMac |

They've determined the extra money now and roster spot is worth the buyout. It's not really anything more complicated than that. |

I get that part 100%...however
It’s pretty clear they didn’t want him in the organization any longer. They didn’t want him taking up a roster spot here or in Lehigh. Just a guess though maybe they didn’t want any distractions he may cause if he was waived knowing he will be there all year more than likely.
GMs say a lot of things when players are shown the door. He didn’t want to bury him on the way out. In the big picture not a big deal. |

Do you mean it’s the right move for the player, in terms of letting Amac try and get an nhl spot with another team?
Or the best move for the team?

Agree not a big deal, but I think he’d be of value to LHV and maybe as an injury call up as a 3rd pair guy for the Flyers.
But in the big picture it’s ok to move on from Amac. |

I dont know a lot about basketball but this was the deal
The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to a deal to trade Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and three first-round picks -- including the No. 4 overall in 2019 Draft, league sources tell ESPN. |

Are they going for something bigger to use that money now?
Or just clearing up the roster spot? |

Can't wait to see how Ball Sr. reacts to this dilemma. |

Imo probably going after something this summer if they wanted the extra space now. |

Schemlko is the Lehigh vet mentor. If Amac needed to be Called up then the season went wrong somewhere imo as he doesn’t fit any long term need. For short term injury they are fine. |

True. That team had better win because they're going to be left in shambles when LeBron leaves. |
