Pfft
Sometimes your comments and profile pic align in truly horrifying ways.
Edler had a contract and earned the right to stick to it.
There is nothing selfish about that.
He can either sign another one or walk, just like Hamhuis did.
No reason to boo - dbot
Bieksa, Burrows, former good loyal soldiers, waived to help the team. Edler no way.
I'm happy another team gets handcuffed. |

i'm aware and would obviously like it for all players to waive and recoup some assets.
i'm just saying it doesn't make you a pos if you stick to your rights. |

Great news - Pacificgem
I suspect this means we'll see a significant defensive signing on July 1. |

Based on the kind of Dmen we need I worry about what we'd be sending the other way. |

Will Edler waive now, maybe Canucks could get another 6th rounder, for his rights. |

Fans seem to feel entitled for some reason. Disappointed it came to this with him leaving for nothing but c'est las vie.... |

Apparently JB tried to trade him. Now JB took his power back, no problem with that. |

Jim's in a poker game with the agent going public. Don't flinch. If you have to overpay to get a good young D, so be it.

Edler camp saying ‘we’re checking the market’ piles the pressure on All-in Jim. Always felt pretty likely to me. Other agents will like this too, since it makes Canucks ever more desperate to find defencemen while also paying through the nose to do so. |

Good luck finding a new house and relocating the family Alex. The country club is being dismantled. |

Draft a D

Braydon Coburn, Carl Gunnarson, or Ben Chairot will be fine, as stop-gap free-agent signings. |

BPA Kreb's/Boldy. With Edler gone we need someone who can play next season. Maybe a trade down to 12 for Ghost+ with Philly? |

Pretty sure they will go heavy on D, at least from 3rd round onwards. |

Theoretically it would be, until they force Hughes into 1st pairing minutes and he gets injured to hell |

I would be ok with Coburn, has a bit of snarl and is decent
I want nothing to do with Gunnarson. We all know the inflated pricetag that comes with free agents that just won a cup (Beagle).
Ben Chariot would probably be my #1 choice of the three. |

Good point on Gunnarson, plus he is a former Leaf, so forgive me for putting him on the list. |
