So Tanner Glass is hanging them up. I guess he’s not following AV to Philly after all.

#10 for EK so we can sign him for 8 years instead of 7?
- 1970vintage

I think SJ offered him an 11x 8 contract.

I don't see a team that is scurrying around to fix the D taking a forward but that is just my thinking of course.
- VANTEL

Our D is an easy 2yr fix, but everyone wants to panic. Go try to get Miller & leave the rest alone for now.

Hopefully the extra second round pick will make you happier

The Canucks are now the redheaded step child of my fandom with the Eagles/Raps winning, I'll be less frustrated with them making mistakes

Miller for a switch of firsts? 6 spots?

I get that the travel is harder, but man, making $11m and living on the coast (the best coast). Without the onerous hassle of dealing with pushy Canadian media daily.

No clue what their asking price is (or what OJ’s perceived value is) but I’d be willing to part with OJ for Miller + the 48th pick. We stay put at 10. I think Rathbone + Miller would be a 🧨 2nd pairing in 2020/21

I like his skill and hockey sense, but yeah his skating stride looks awkward/ugly.

Apparently he had business in Vancouver during his stop over....let the speculation continue. Maybe he stopped by the Sedins to wish happy Father’s Day

If he was from a top program that demanded peak fitness I’d be worried about his skating... As-is I believe it’s his only skillset deficiency & a professional nutrition/aerobic regimen will fix it. He isn’t a poor skater because of technique or coordination.

I think my point is I want to stay at 10, but if we move to the mid teens I’ like Brink WAY more than Caufield or the first round D.

I'm sure he'll get an asst coach job here without an interview.

I challenge anyone to put together a Caufield scouting video longer then 60 seconds that shows him doing anything impressive aside from potting gimmes. Dude has an ELITE (accurate) shot/release and that’s it. He’s a detrimental piece to any top 6 line IMO. His linemates will suffer in all 3 zones - corsi will be ruined as his line perpetually plays short handed... Brink compliments any top 6 line with vision/creativity, creates space (as opposed to relying on finding space created by linemates) and possession/board play. Caufield wants no part of that sh!t.

I agree with you sort of. I suspect he can out score his issues with the right line mates. No doubt he needs to be sheltered a bit.

That’s the problem though. He requires a perfect storm to score to his potential. 40g 13a & a -50 playing on your first line?

Well done Carol as usual.

I think you are on to something with Puljuujarvi and Lucic for LE.

Re-ignite Jesse with Juolevi and we need toughness with Lucic for the kids.

Looking good!

I don’t want to be associated with “Brink or bust” based on the stance that I prefer him to Caufield, but I really do believe he brings a lot of what is making ppl want to open the vault for Panarin. IMO his skating can and will improve with fitness (not to a Panarin level, but still). The rest of his game hasn’t even relied on that kind of separation to create what he does.

The kicker for me is the NMC.
Some places i've read that Lucic would forfeit this if he agreed to a trade, but Friedman's piece suggests that it would remain in place, which would mean he would be protected in the expansion draft.
That's a non-starter for me.

But if not, I would be ok with Lucic and JP for LE.
I think Lucic would be able to play a role on this team and bring (my favorite hockey term) some much needed GRIT!

My Caufield comp - Grabner skillset who can’t skate. (Opportunistic line leach)
My Brink comp - Panarin skillset who can’t skate. (Complimentary Top6 W)
