Tavs had a career year because of Marner, not the other way around - this was clearly evident watching Leaf games.

Marner was the best player on the Leafs last year. Sorry Ek, if Skinner is worth 9 million a year, Marner is worth 11 per all day long. He may not be top 3....but he’s easily in the top 10....and he needs a new contract now....not 3 years ago, so today’s market prices do matter. If teams offer sheet him, which I can’t see the player wanting to sign it, the Leafs would match. Marner won’t be going anywhere. 7 years....75 million.
