If a player is injured can he be bought out or traded? I know LTIR contracts are traded but the idea with those is that the player is most likely never returning and someone's taking on the salary and gaining a piece to do so |

All signs are pointing to Erik Karlsson returning to SJ and re-signing with the Sharks, which would take the most prominent name off the 2019 UFA board. |

Further to @TSNBobMcKenzie's report on Erik Karlsson, I'm told the deal is indeed done: 8 years max deal, north of $11 million per season... the Sharks with a huge move in keeping the superstar D from hitting the market.

They're going to lose a good player this offseason. I hope to us. Probably either Pavelski or Labanc are toast. They just spent about half their total cap space this summer on Karlsson and still have Pavelski, Meier, Labanc, and others to sign |

Doughty signed for 13.8 per cent of cap. If ceiling does hit the projected $83 — Karlsson comes in around $11.45.

That's a lot of cap space. I guess it's the market rate but I don't like those long contracts. I doubt he will be worth that down the line. |

With the #Sens signing Arb-Elig RFA Anthony Duclair to a 1 year, $1.65M contract, the club now has $34.5M in available cap space with a roster of 16 (8F 5D 3G) [This assumes the upper limit will be $83M]
The #Senators remain $12.8M below the lower limit. |

I don't like that deal for Karlsson at all, especially not from SJ. But not my problem |

Has anyone posted that stupid Brooks article that says the Isles and Devils are in on Trouba yet? |

I saw that one and laughed. Nothing against Trouba but the Isles D was just fine and will be even better with Dobson and Wilde. Isles need offense. If I were even thinking of moving Dobson, it would be for an impact forward. |

You're obviously a chowdahhead/garth shmoe fan. It figures. You're also the newest member of the mental midget mafia on this site. Last year, we had a haul at the draft. We'll develop that crew, and get help for Mathew Barzal, in the form of offer sheeting Laine or Marner. They will grow old together, during their prime years in Islanders blue, orange, and white. To have them together, for ten years, while winning Stanley Cups in our new arena, would be awesome. I realize it's difficult for a walking monument to ineptitude, like yourself, to comprehend. - #11WayneMerrick

I saw it and shook my head.. anything that guy writes about the Isles is 100% false.. every single time. This is usually the week he puts out a hit piece on Isles and Devils franchise right before the UFA deadline. Hate that guy. |

Seemed really convenient for the Post that all three Metro-area teams are in on Trouba |

Now EK has the Isles in on Tyler Myers. What is so hard to understand the Isles need offense? |

Don’t get me wrong, I approve of what Lou has accomplished so far this offseason.
But if he (frank)s up with Lee, I’ll smother the life out him with MDW’s (frank) towel. |
