Yeah, that's asking WAY too much You'd be lucky to get Bear.

I can dream.

I was throwing around stuff with R80 on Twitter.

Trying to work something out around Yammer/Bouchard and Athanasiou.

You like Soderwtrom over York? Is it because of RH or LH?
- RafiDRW

No those weren't rankings more just I see those names both inside and outside the top 10. Seems like there is quite the lack of consensus from 8-14 which could be leveraged in a trade down scenario.

I don't think I've seen any mocks where York goes before 12.

I wrote an article about him back in Friday Should be posted within the next day or two.
- MaximumBone

Donskoi would be a steal for you guys if you could get him. As long as Chia isn’t consulted on the value.

One plays top-4 minutes at the pro level and the other was making outlets to perhaps the most stacked forward corps in USNTDP history. I thought Soderstrom > York was unanimous.

Start drinking and look at photos of Yakupov, Omark, and Puljijarvi. You’ll really start feeling towards the draft then.

If you're getting Bouchard, you're sending us Hronek

I seem to like York for some reason. Outside of Broberg or Byram, he’s who I’ve kind of attached myself to. Would love to trade a couple of seconds for a late teens pick and get him.

I honesty view Hronek how you guys viewed Klefbom two years ago. Best in the organization on defense. After his dominant Worlds and a really good 2019 season, I think he might be a perfect number 2 defenseman.

I'm a big fan and think he's a great complimentary winger for a middle-6. I'd go as high as 4 x 3; would prefer 3.75 x 4

Depends if you view him more as a second liner or third liner. I see him getting 4+, especially to sign over in EDM. 4.5 x 4-5 probably.

I lean towards Seider but that's probably only because he is a German like Leon.

If Holland wants a D and none of the 2nd tier D-man stand out in particular then I think moving down to 15-20 and acquiring one of Soderstrom, Broberg, Seider, York or Harley would be a prudent move.

Alternatively, as you say acquiring a pick in the early twenties could also help accomplish this.

Holland does love trading down. Got us Cholowski and Hronek in 2016 and then further back it got us Mantha and Bertuzzi in 2013. Hope he can make a splash for you guys.

Holy (frank) is that a dumb mock draft. No way Turcotte, Zegras and Krebs all fall that far. Lavoie top ten?

Yeah that one was brutal.

This one is a bit better and it discusses Holland having interest in Broberg when he was with Detroit.

This week is going to be crazy in speculation and rampant rumors. I’m hoping there’s a poop ton of trades.

1) NJD - Hughes (elite C depth)
2) NYR - Kakko (I would pick him 1st)
3) CHI - Byram (build an elite the D corps)
4) COL - Turcotte (get that elite 2C)
5) LAK - Dach (gotta replace Vilardi as future 1C)

6) DET - Zegras (high-end skill, C/LW)
7) BUF - Cozens (juuust short )
8) EDM - Boldy (a high-end skill winger)
9) ANA - Soderstrom (need to stock up the D again)
10) VAN - Caufield (boom/bust boy)

11) PHI - Krebs (a Schwartz-type would fit well)
12) MIN - Newhook (a high-end talent)
13) FLA - Broberg (draft some D)
14) ARI - Kaliyev (they like math; he thrives by numbers)
15) MTL - Lavoie (French, big AND skilled)

16) COL - Harley (top-end ceiling)
17) VGK - Tomasino (cause they always take who I like)
18) DAL - Seider (been drafting a lot of Fs)
19) NYR - Heinola (the Rangers also take the ones I like)
20) OTT - McMichael (best C prospect available)

21) PIT - Brink (high-end boom/bust)
22) LAK - Kolyachonok (brilliant ceiling)
23) NYI - Suzuki (could use a skill C)
24) NSH - Hoglander (Arivdsson 2.0)
25) WSH - Podkolzin (Russians n stuff)

26) CGY - Beecher (could use a C of his potential)
27) TB - Pelletier (high-end skill)
28) CAR - York (they like American Dmen)
29) ANA? - Vlasic (keep restocking the D pool)
30) BOS - Grewe (plays that sweet, sweet Bruins hockey)
31) BUF - Thomson (RD outta Kelowna)

Knight, Poulin, Robertson and Leason drop to the 2nd.

- MaximumBone

My preliminary list is:

Jack Hughes NJD

A lot of hype that management are leaking that this is the most conversations teams have had in possibly decades. I see a lot of trades possible.

Also, Wings draft 6th, you curr.

Gonna be an interesting draft year.

And I fixed the mistake I don't know why I was thinking #7.

Yzerman does like his Russians. I think I read he’s drafted two per draft over the last four drafts. I’d be okay with it if we traded back and acquired a defenseman prospect or younger established dman. Maybe 8th and Bouchard or 16th and Girard. Something along those lines. Might be asking too much.
- RafiDRW

I could actually see Yzerman trading down if the word of the street is that no one else is interested in Podz. I wonder what kind of package he could attain if he trades down to the 18-25 range?

But you have him going to LA at #5?

I guess you don't think that LA will see what you dislike in him? Also, what is it you dislike about him?

I feel that could be argued, especially considering his age/position, steady progression as a player, and our desperate need for immediate help.
- Wildschwein

If I'm already committing those kinds of assets to an offersheet, I point my cannon in the direction of Meier. Send him an offer of 7 to 7.5mil or something and really put the squeeze on the Sharks. I'd give up a 1st, 2nd and 3rd if it brought me 7 years of Meier at that hit. We'd have to shuffle some cap around beforehand, but no moreso than we've already gotta. Sets up the top-6 nicely going forward.

Meier almost certainly brings more value than those 3 picks do over the 7 years of that contract (and perhaps beyond).

I've just seen reports that they're a big fan of his and they need a C to reinforce their prospect pool after Vilardi has fallen off.

I think he's a Spezza-type; offensively-inclined, playmaker with dangles and a big frame, but fails to maximize those natural abilities. His consistency is also a matter of concern to some. I find these types of players are more boom/bust than I like to aim for this high. His big frame makes it easier for his dangles to work against his current competition, but does that game style translate? I have my doubts.
