I am really surprised the Sharks did this. They have a history of getting shorter term team friendly deals done in the past. That is a big reason why they have been a playoff contender for so long. This seems really out of character. As a Kings fan I'm not complaining just surprised.

I wish the max contract was 6 years not 8

See Burns, E.Kane, Couture and Vlasic contracts for reference. Shouldnt be surprising at all

Please. You'd be asking for a towel & a cigarette if the Bolts inked EK65. That's nothing but sour f'ing grapes.

No, I wouldn't. You don't read my posts in this forum over the years. I didn't want him last season either when the speculation about Tampa started.

If Tampa had signed him to a contract like that, I'd be reaching for the bottle - and not for celebratory reasons.

Karlsson is a stud still, but I doubt he will stay that way for the bulk of that contract. Your team is better with him now, but that contract will come back to haunt.

OK he had ankle surgery....so what? What injuries last season were ankle related? He had a groin injury, came back early twice and played through it, made it worse to the point he needed surgery. He continued to play through it because he would miss playoffs if he got the surgery at this point....

So, you didn't see a drop-off in his skating after the ankle?

cry me a river.

San Jose should have been eliminated by Las Vegas. They never should have been there to play St Louis.

Stop a PowerPlay once in awhile maybe your team wins. Oh Wait Gallant's head was ready to explode & he couldn't think to call a timeout out after the 2nd goal...

You think ajyone has any sympathy for you and the lame sharks fans complaining about the reffing against st Louis?

Lol no. Take your whining elsewhere.

And good luck with this horrendous contract.

You think Lucic contract looks bad? People will be calling this contract Lucic 2.0 in t-minus..... (3 years?)

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving (ignorant) fan base Have fun SJ

Brutal contract. I don’t give a flying f#ck about the Sharks, but the rest of the league suffers when teams do stupid crap like this.
