I do worry a bit about miller and him falling out of favour. Vegas doesnt exactly have a stellar d corps, is it a lack of foot speed?
Anyway, great stuff Carol. That mock draft trade is insane, that would be a grand slam. |

Carol for GM! Trading veteran trouble contracts for picks and prospects, staring down Edler to get a reasonable deal done. You go Carol! |

If I had to choose between the 2...
I'd take resigning Hutton, Goldobin and Granlund if it meant getting rid of Sutter and Eriksson. |

@ Carol.
I predict it's Seider you're hoping to nab with the 16th pick.

Agreed. Granlund and Hutton need to be moved. Goldobin should be given this upcoming season to fight for a spot. If he doesn’t show marked improvement by December, trade him. |

Good reppin’ Carol - I personally would’ve preferred to stay put & select Boldy (I think he’s multiple tiers better than anyone who’ll be there at 16 & a best case scenario long term linemate for Pettersson), but that was a fun & creative trade. |

It's easy to subtract guys like that. I'd hang onto them for now, until we're sure we have definite upgrades on board.

Three of them still don't have a contract . One was offered up in a trade offer already and the other has been the main topic of discussion of Canucks Garbage Removal. |

I just don't see GM JB making such sweeping changes.

I disagree . I look at it as fence sitting. Either build a good team that will make the playoffs or build a bad team where you will get a good draft pick ( top 5).
That is my opinion only . Having mediocre players with no trade value only slows the process.

Benning knows that those three free agents have no value. Just a few days ago they had received a huge shock about the trade value of most of their players. Why would you even consider bringing them back?

I’m getting tired of only looking forward to the draft. I feel that at this point Benning should be a lot further along and we should be looking forward to a playoff spot not the draft. |

I'm on board with moving Hutton, Tanev, Sven, Granlund.
I'd probably take a flier on Goldobin and re-sign Edler.
I'm just saying, I don't expect JB to move all of those, plus Sutter. |

I agree . Will Goldobin Granlund and Hutton get us to the playoffs ? Not a chance.

Fair enough. I'm still in the "win as much as possible" camp, so I would try to ice the best possible lineups on the way to getting good.
That being said, we may also be thinking differently in terms of timeframes. My vision is to re-sign these guys on one or two-year deals. Then, assuming no massive upgrades through trade or free agency that make them expendable, if they get outplayed at camp like Sam Gagner did last year, it's sayonara time.
If Edler does leave, I think it's more likely that Hutton sticks around. And truthfully, I'd be inclined to keep Granlund—cheap and versatile. He's fine in the proper role.
