They should take it out on their GM for overpaying Tavares and then Matthews, I feel so bad for Toronto. - Reubenkincade

Rumours were that Philly wasn't the highest on his list of places to play. Boston and NYR topped the list. Clearly Philly had to overpay to keep him. - manvanfan
so it isn't just Vancouver then!
Wait, didn’t the Rangers just trade him away? Hey Edler, you paying attention? |

People say Benning makes bad deals. Basically they traded Trouba for PLONK
Rumor is Trouba pulled a Kesler and gave them 2 teams he would go to? I don't know how though if he didn't have a NTC?

Can’t have a NTC, too young. Maybe said he wouldn’t re-sign? |

Edler’s refusal to waive at the deadline is likely why he isn’t getting another contract. What goes around comes around. |

Everything every other GM is so much better than what Benning does.
Ok... only a certain crowd sounds like that and i'll give you a hint it's the same crowd that complains about other people not being negative all the time towards everything involving the Canucks.
Chevy has been chasing for past couple of seasons now that he's not drafting in the top 10 anymore. They almost need to pull a Boston and sell a few players and try again. |

No Canucks news, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing; boy Fletcher seems to have been given a mandate by Comcast to make poop happen or else you get the Hextall treatment |

That’s crazy. Glad so far JB hasn’t jumped in at those prices. |

I don’t think it’s crazy at all, but that’s just me, to the best of my knowledge they really need a second line center and they’ve got 20+ million in cap space.
Second line centers who sign contracts in 2019 are going to make a lot more than second line centers who signed a few years ago, just like first line centers are making 9 to 11 million this summer. |

Free agency hasn't even started yet.
Realistically, there are only 4 maybe 5 teams that could afford taking a cap dump and getting rewarded quite nicely for it, the Canucks being 1 of them. |

They could have traded a 7th round pick for Sutter and saved $3million |

They also have 3 pretty important RFA's to re-sign, Konecny, Sanheim and Provorov.

I don’t know their business but I’m just saying I’m all for players making as much as they can with short careers. Good for Hayes, he cashed in and Philly needed a second line center I believe. They can move players to fit everyone in. |

Lots of moving parts and I’ve read on The Athletic some stories about their owner wanting things to happen. They seem to have guys with value to move so I don’t foresee any issues there.
Tampa has way worse issues. |
