True, but the higher end forwards are gone by 28. Thats into the dman drafting zone, which we do kinda have a need for...
- carsonagenic

That actually might be a perfect spot to select Rees...

Carolina might want him.

They have Ned on the horizon. Solid goalie prospect with a little NHL experience already.

They also have picks 36 and 37 so i can see them (Carolina) being a fit more than pick 13 Florida who i think will be in on Bob.

sure
- VanHockeyGuy

I'd do it, but he still needs to waive the NMC permantly for expansion draft reasons. Poolparty would use a protection slot up.

They do, but they're also a team that made the playoffs last season. I doubt they want to go into this year without somebody that has proven they can play a heavy enough workload. They are flush with picks.

The Vee's have turned out quite a few NHL player's, here's a couple i'll watch.

His name keeps coming up, decent sweetener. Is he Green's kind of guy though?

None of us get paid to do this, imagine the pressure if we did.

Yes, I was dreaming of the no Bob to Florida plan.
36th and 37th for Marky?

I think if Marky is traded it'll be in the new year. Hopefully to a team that is in desperate need for a starter. But I don't think JB will be looking to move either of them heading into a season in which he wants and needs to make the playoffs.

I'd do that in a heartbeat, not sure Carolina would though.

They can sign one of their current guys or grab a smith for no assets ...trading an asset for a goalie is dumb for Carolina with Ned ready to go

You're probably right. Who knows, maybe Marky continues to trend upwards and we can get even more for him. As long as he doesn't bottom out and we're left with next to nothing.

With the proper commodity focussing of players for picks, some dmen in this zone could be achieved. 😁

They had success splitting the duty and will probably do the same next year ...

Given Markstroms strong playoff numbers I can’t see why they wouldn’t be looking to give up assets to acquire him

True, but they are in compete now, entering win now territory. Marky is a good, low cost starter if he can repeat last years performance.

I don’t really like the Dmen in that zone, which ones are you high on value wise? If we could get 28 & 37 - take Rees & Grewe (future Cup run calibre top 9 skilled grit like Madden)... then take Spence at 40, Constantinou at 71, Konovalov in the 4th, Carter Berger later etc etc etc... That’d be (frank)ing ideal

Smith is garbage, so is Mac.

If they can't sign Mrazek or are unwilling to fork over big cash for him because Ned is "oh so ready" then trading for a proven guy with a modest cap hit is actually an ideal situation.

What is dumb is going into a season coming off a final four appearance and handing the reigns (uncontested) in net to a guy with a whopping 90 minutes of experience

Tough to tell, but with Poolparty it was and is a case of Oiler rush a prospect yet again.
Plus, Is Green the answer at all?
