I thought Braun would be a guy the leafs should look at. Only one year and RD. SJ needed to unload cap so picks is all they wanted.
Coburn signs in TB for 1.7 for 2 years. - Aaron_85
Leafs need to shed salary as well.. SJ got a good return for a 32 yr old d-man that was not going to be re-signed |

Zaitsev and Marleau maybe, but Brown ain't no cap dump. Not at his age, salary and production given his role. - RogerRoeper
I'm hoping we can get something similar to what SJ got, for Zaitsev |

Rough day to be a Leafs fan.
Karlsson overpayment inflates the defense market.
Cap is reported to be below 83M. - RedRevenge
Could always be a lot worse. Some were hoping that the Leafs would sign that overpaid clown. |

As would I.. I still think Dubas is looking at a player for player deal, not just picks. |

Or Zaitsev + Marleau for a ham sandwich.
I would lovingly serve that ham sandwich to Dubas. |

Pfft Dubas job is easy. Here, I’ll do it for him.
Marleau and a 1st for Martinez.
Nylander for Pesce.
Zaitsev to Van or Edmonton or whoever for a ham sandwich.
Sign Hainsey for a year.
Johnson Matthews Kapanen
Hyman Tavares Marner
Moore Kadri Bracco
Marchment Goat/Petan Brown
Rielly Pesce
Muzzin Martinez
Dermott (eventually) Hainsey
Rosen/Holl
You’re welcome Dubas. I’ll be in the car. |

I'm just going to say it:
I hope we find at a way to get Gardiner on a short term contract.
There, I said it.

Yup. Never had less than 61 points in a full season and is 22. Nelson is 28 and has hit 50 points once and got 6 million... - RogerRoeper
Willie needs to play with Matthews, he needs a player to help make him better. If he's back with Matthews, he'll get back to 60pts. But he just cannot be the one trying to make others better, he's not that player as of now. |

He also needs better line mates on the powerplay. That 2nd unit was trash last year. |

considering what our D currently looks like and the options out there.
Might be a play.
But I doubt it will occur, simply no cap space for him |

And $6.9 for 60+ pts is money well-spent nowadays. And at his age there is upside and time to improve. |

It wasnt bad.....again he's just not a player that can improve others yet.
Overall, the whole pp wasnt impressive. |

I'm just furious that the guy showed up out of shape after holding out.
My daughter had a funny one today:
Let's get Kessel back, and have a Kessel-Kadri-Nylander line, so that the Leafs fans can direct all their hate.
I suggested we get back Phaneuf and Aki Berg to play as a unit, but she had no idea who Aki Berg was.
So I grounded her. |

Should have kept the 78 year-old GM who overpays supporting players terribly. - RogerRoeper
Yeah, that is exactly what I said. Thanks for helping me understand what I really meant.
