NYR land a high quality Dman in Trouba and likely not done yet with guys like Kreider, Vesey, Namestnikov and Buchnevich potentially in play. Could be an interesting week/wknd for the Rangers. - jimbro83
Buckle up boys, the rebuild/retool is in overdrive...Personally, I hope they deal the middle two, lock up Kreider long term, sign Buch to a bridge deal |

I don’t see spots for Vesey or Nam but also don’t see them getting us great returns. Maybe part of a package like 58+ one of them to move into the late 30’s for a guy we like there. |

Dreger on TSN1050 says Kevin Cheveldayoff was really boxed in, Trouba made it abundantly clear there were only specific teams he would go to, Trouba’s list wasn’t 10 teams long or even 5 teams long, Dreger believes it was 1 or 2 teams long. #NYR #NHLJets - jimbro83
Did Dreger mention today that those 1 or 2 teams were teams he would definitely sign with only?
That's because I just mentioned about 1/2 hour or so ago on here, (pg.9, at 9:10), words in a tweet (if factual) that I saw late last night made elsewhere through some link to that site, that Trouba had given the Jets at some unspecified earlier point, a list of teams he would only be willing to sign with, and the Rangers being one of them. Maybe that's why the Jets refused other teams higher offers, if that was also true as per those rumors. |

D corps has been raised from the bottom , may need a gritty saavy vet D to
help newbies with grow pains unless you see Fox & Hijak & may be Lindgren
having stellar yrs and joining skje ,trouba ,d'angelo Staal may be that vet who stays as 7th D and tutors the youth on NYR team & play No Claussen needed
Shatty ,Smith ,Names ,Vesey are trades to get cap $$ back to sign Panarin
with so many picks available for us ,using sum as sweetners to take on some of
the players outlined above and taking some % of $$ back for this yr only and we
sign Panarin easily
Trade for a top center : players from above not bundled with D who have to go
Vesey ,Names ,Strome,Lias A, Boo or possible Krieds or Buchny along with a Lindgren or Rykov from D ( K Miller & Lundkquist are untouchable) are a possible to get a Karllson outta Vegas or any other top center whose team is in cap hell like Winny is in dumping Trouba for least expensive upside of a deal possible ,couldnt take back contract $$ when cap hell , whats next till draft is so exciting to wait for , its like xmasin the summer ... gotta love being a NYR fan and the RE TOOLING not REBUILDINGwe had been facing .... L G R
Ehlers in Winny is an interesting player : would chevy dance with Gorts again |

For specifically you chief professor, "Words in a tweet I had read".
I could not however, in at least an hour or so in searching, find out alone which other teams had made those higher offers in the first place.

between cap hell ( about 10 teams) & expansion draft end of next season ? 20-21
or is it season after BUt a lot of long term as well as short term concerns forcing the hands of the Gm's .this yr & next yrs drafts are so crucial to control and fiscal flexibility ,we will see more so called lopsided deals like Troubas then less
I Cant Wait for the draft friday and whats coming between now & then |

I knew we were in the market for a RHD so I was more in the EK camp than the Trouba camp because I was afraid of the assets it was gonna take to get Trouba. I cant believe it cost Pionk (who I do like) and their own 1st back. That's just absurd
If rumors were true that they didnt allow permission to talk to the agent than I would assume the reason the Rangers offer was the offer that got it done was because of the 1st rd pick. I dont think other teams would offer their 1st on a gamble without talking to the agent... Ironically, the Rangers #20 was expendable on the gamble because of Kakko/Hughes... it just happened to be Winni's 1st rounder |

Goodbye Kreider and Buch. - tomburton99
Kreider's and Buch's replies: Goodbye tombotanker. |

Would Columbus be interested in trading Panarin's rights for Shattenkirk if we retain half his salary? They have a ton of cap space and would essentially be giving up nothing. Shattenkirk could be decent there relative to the $3.3M cap hit they'd have playing on the bottom pair with no pressure |

i dont see that happening unless we included a higher that normal pick (relative to those sent when acquiring UFAs right) but if you told me sunday night the rangers would get trouba for 20 and pionk i wouldnt have seen that coming either so who knows |

I don't get the feeling Columbus will be in the business of helping a division rival save cap space |

getting late in the game for trading for someone's rights, the window to talk to free agents is just a week away anyway |
