I said get Myers and Ehlers. Call me crazy, but we can't score. So get someone who can score. Have to give to get. So if Risto is traded, who's going to replace him? I gave an option, again if the price is right.

Risto scores as the 22nd best Dman in the NHL in PPG.

I fail to see how trading our best offensive dman will increase our scoring. Yes I understand Dahlin is very good in 1 year and you can get the forward's scoring but replacing that on the defensive end is not as easy. Think about the pain we went through when Risto was our only offensive producing Dman for 4 years. Now we finally have 2 offensive guys.

Even without size, Cole Caufield has the numbers to tempt teams

Roughly because forwards generally score more than defenseman... Didn't think I need to lay that nugget our for anyone.

I literally mentioned that in what I wrote and then gave more reason.

Or did you fail to comprehend that while reading?

So now that the Trouba thing is gone and the Rangers can overpay for him instead of the Sabres...

What is next?

I wouldn't be against bringing Myers back but most people in the hockey world seem to think he is going to get a pretty hefty contract and I want nothing to do with that

I'll call him getting a 6x6 from a team like Pitt and he actually does really well there.

I think you're failing to see the other half of the first post where Ehlers comes to Buffalo.

Sabres director of amateur scouting Jankowski was the on the morning show on GR yesterday. They asked him about 4 players. The longest and most glowing review was Caufield. He talked about his infectious personality. Could be a draft smoke screen of course

I did... and I mentioned that obviously adding the forward scoring is big but having 2 offensive dmen is very underappreciated. Risto has been our only point producing dman for 4 years and look at how poor we have been. When he was off the ice we were a cluster.

Now we have 2 guys that can score 40+ yearly... well built teams need scoring depth.

Caufield's 72 goals came in 64 games, often with presumptive No. 1 pick Jack Hughes as his linemate, and he set the NTDP all-time record with 126 career goals, breaking the mark of Phil Kessel (104) during a six-goal eruption in a win over the USHL's Green Bay Gamblers. Caufield and Kessel are the only players with more than 100 goals in the history of a program that has produced Jack Eichel, Patrick Kane and Matthews.

Then Caufield scored 14 goals in seven games at the World Under-18 tournament in Russia, tying the tournament record set in 2004 by some Russian kid named Alex Ovechkin.

Yeah good luck passing on him

Yea... I can see him being an Oiler too.

He is an Ehrhoff type guy on any good scoring team IMO.

Tampa re-signed Coburn, they really need to move some bodies and cap especially since the cap is going to be closer to $82 million now

Not gonna lie.... I was a HUGE HUGE HUGE Alex DeBrincat fan in juniors... and I see a lot of DeBrincat in Caufield now.

Everyone thought DeBrincat was too small and only really good coming up because he was on loaded Erie teams with the Stromes, Raddyash, and of course McDavid. DeBrincat had 3 straight 100+ point seasons.

Passing on a player because of size is a really dumb thing to do. Evaluate based on talent. Talent wins at the NHL level. Now if they believe someone is more talented, so be it, but this isn't the '80s
