I'm betting Slavin or Faulk... Fleury probably isn't worth that yet.. I doubt they would deal Dougie again so soon after getting him. - JVince11
Slavin is a top 10-15 NHL d man. They aren’t moving him |

No No... i think you captured it all in one clip here.
5.4M for Risto in today's NHL landscape is nothing. He's the 44th highest paid Dman in the league but scores at the 22nd best for dmen. But he's terrrrrrible and should be moved on from. |

Will it really cost that much? Not that I want to sign him, but I can't see anyone paying him that. |

He couldn't reject the trade here. Once he's here, you offer him 60m. Worst scenario you take him to arbitration and take the 2 year option.
Sabres should have beat that offer - jcragcrumple
That’s not how it works though
If the TEAM takes Trouba to arbitration,
then HE is the one who decides on 1 or 2 years
And he’d surely pick 1year to get to UFA
Maybe Botts is planning on using 31 for a player he thinks he can actually sign??? |

Carolina is still paying Alexander Semin 2.3M for 2 more years?

What a dumb short sighted analysis....
% of points from PP of top scoring DMen in 2018:
Carlsson .47
Yandle .63
Burns .34
Barrie .43
Hedman .47
Krug .57
Klingberg .45
OEL .44
Dahlin .44
Ristolainen .39
Please... continue to use this as a big mark against Risto like he has some absurd more points from PP than does EVERY OTHER F'N Dman in the NHL.
NEXXXXXT - JVince11
Maybe your thick head can't comprehend the concept of losing PP time results in loss of points for a 1 dimensional Dman, who sucks on D...but will still get paid the same.

With Edler talks going nowhere, don't be surprised if the #Canucks now set their sights on signing UFA D Luke Schenn.

Risto scores as the 22nd best Dman in the NHL in PPG.
I fail to see how trading our best offensive dman will increase our scoring. Yes I understand Dahlin is very good in 1 year and you can get the forward's scoring but replacing that on the defensive end is not as easy. Think about the pain we went through when Risto was our only offensive producing Dman for 4 years. Now we finally have 2 offensive guys. - JVince11
I was told "anyone that thinks risto is good, is stupid"

If the player elects arbitration, the team decides one year or two
If the team elects arbitration, the player decides one year or two
However, lunaion pointed out that neither situation is applicable because it's the last year of RFA eligibility
I still think it's a miss but i've moved on |
