Couple of Oiler quick hitters as we touch down in Van -
-Broberg a very good possibility at 8
-If Puljujarvi deal can land a 3line F, they do it, if not they may stand pat
-Benning likely in play - create space for young D
-Connolly should be a prime UFA target for them.
So, Shaw + 2nd for Puljujarvi? |

I agree... they could possibly buy low, but Hudon + a 2nd is not even close... every team would come with better offers than that - obie
he's intriging, maybe a change would be good for him.
but I wouldn't give anything of value for him. risk is too high. if he can't crack EDM' lineup and play with Jesus...
maybe McCaron and a 3rd? but like you said, some other team will make a better offer. |

Nobody wants McCarron, Hudon, Peca, Weise, Reilly and Deslauriers... all would clear waivers with zero teams even considering putting in a claim
I think Lehkonen or Armia + one of the 2nd rounders probably gets it done |

I agree, small price to pay for a guy who had "elite" potential 3 years ago |

Exactly... and if all they're gambling is a 3rd line winger + a 2nd round pick, do it!! |

That's what I think also ... he does looks like an interesting "project" but I'm just not sure what Bergevin would be ready to give up for him.
Surely they have some scouting reports on him ... the physical skills are obviously there but what kind of mental determination does he have and how hard does he train and practice to get better, etc.
The best example would be Gallagher, Shaw and Domi types of players vs Chucky, Semin and Drouin ... it could be argued that the latter have superior skills but who would you prefer to have on your team during the playoffs?
I get that you need a mix of player types in a team but one must never overlook the mental aspect of a player ... we as armchair GM's don't have access to this information unfortunately. |

Maybe he really finds his game in Montreal and has himself a Chad Kilger like career! Wouldn't that be something? |
