Alex Newhook please!

Not sure which defenseman i would pick. Seems like they’re all over the board. Other than Byram, there is no consensus on which defenseman would be best. Seider, Harley, Heinola, Broberg, York, etc. In a situation like this i would rather just go for the impact forward that is still available.

Plus, why draft a defenseman that will take 3 years to develop to fill a need that is there today? Chances are we’ll trade for a LD in the coming days. Don’t see how drafting a LD helps us today.

Any players that we'll be picking this year won't be playing for the team in October anyway.

We have refilled our bank of prospects at center in the last few years ... centermen can always be converted into wingers if need be.

Now is the time to do the same with defensemen.

Good pick Karine! York was my 2nd choice in what was left.

I would have chosen Arthur Kaliyev .

He is the wild card of the first round, could go in the top 10 and could drop close to the 20th place.

The need for the future is there big time on defense as well. You could argue a RHD could be ok as well....but I think getting a defenseman makes sense.

I honestly don't care what position the guy we draft plays.

As long as the guy ends up being a good player in the NHL, it doesn't matter what position he plays.

They have centres coming out of their ass right now, a poopty aging defense and not much to speak up for prospects on d (ok Romanov and Brook I guess).

Anyway, BPA might just be a defenseman at 15.

THE SKINNY: Scored eight goals – three more than anyone else - at 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

AVALANCHE: Four foundation players from draft: 2011 Landeskog, 2013 MacKinnon 2015 Rantanen, 2017 Makar

THE SKINNY: Elite goal-scorer earned precisely same number of goals (51) as assists.

GOLDEN KNIGHTS: Vegas became the first expansion team to have three first-round picks in 2017.

It's this level of analysis that screams six figure salary.

"According to Jesse Granger of The Athletic, has submitted his 16-team no-trade list to the Vegas Golden Knights, who will now look into trading his $5.25 million cap hit this week."

Didn't realize the Knights were still on the hook for $5.25 mill this year ... talk about a bad contract.

CBus' own fault for signing Nathan Horton despite not being able to insure his contract due to not passing medicals due to his back and then Horton immediately being never able to play again. The Clarkson contract at least was insured and Toronto didn't care as they can afford Horton if it means they get LTIR space. All their own stupidity that led to this
