Fletcher was never good at trades or contracts. In fact hes never been good at much GMing. Problem now is he works for a team with more money than Minnesota. |

Leafs were wise to never want to sign JVR long-term. He's so one-dimensional and will only get worse... - RogerRoeper
I called that one I don't think they missed him at all.

He was also given every opportunity in NYR to rack up points before trading him to WPG where he flamed out. |

He's UFA, so if Marner's side goes there Leafs need to fight back.
Kypreos claimed Karlson's deal is somehow a comparable to Mitch. WTF? A UFA DMan with 2 Norris'? |

There has been a paradigm shift though, with RFA $s creeping up and taking some of the UFA slice of the pie. poop is bananas.

Rangers sucked, surprised he put up as many points there as he did.
20 games with the Peg, barely started to get used to his teammates I would think.
THEY'RE ALL OVER PAID....SUM female dogES.

I can't see the Leafs not paying Marner top dollars, they will not let him get to RFA and be open to an offer sheet. 11.5M/yr for 5 years is my prediction |

I'm well aware the Rangers sucked, but the fact of the matter is that someone with that much ice time and opportunity will rack up points and increase their value at the TDL despite their team. Someone has to score. You can go down to any poopty team and find a player getting line 1 ice time with numbers that might surprise you. |

I think it could be similar. Obviously it would be better for the Leafs to stagger those years though.

Because it is Toronto and we have to pay extra, or so we have been told for years. Also, other stupid (frank)in GM's overpaid their players to (frank)up the market. |
