The Leafs need Perry for the playoffs. So when we draw Boston in the first round again and a Bruin takes a cheap shot, Perry can cross check them in the face and get suspended for the series instead of Kadri

Brown has a 20 goal season, however, and Puljujarvi has scored 17 in his career. JP still gets the potential nudge, though, so you'd have to sweeten the pot.

If Edmonton really does want Zaitsev, then we'd have to take back some form of salary as well, because Benning's $1.9m isn't enough. The only real acceptable "dead" salary on Edmonton is Gagner's $3.1m.

I absolutely agree with you. If Marleau wants out of Toronto and Toronto is happy to let him go, then a mutual termination can occur. That much is clear.

The only thing I didn't know was if the NMC was binding or if the player had control over it. If you're right, then the only thing that would stop this from happening is Marleau.
