I only said he is not the 2nd best player in NHL like he is getting paid. He may become one, but he is not there yet. Heck you can even argue that’s the best contract in NHL given his age and when he will hit the open market.

The Tyler Ennis slot could easily be filled with Perry and bring a lot more physicality to the team. Especially with Marleau being shipped out, a veteran slot in the forward group isn't all that bad to have.

Kadri and Tavares are both 28, Muzzin is 30. Those are veterans that can still play hockey.
