Never wanted to trade Seabrook. No team will take him and the Hawks have loads of cap room.

Keith is still a #2 on most teams (you guys should have traded for him last season. Maybe you would have beaten Boston in that game 7 with his help).

This would be my primary strategy if I were GM. Just put a few other crazy GMs on speed dial and call them every day, offering terrible deals. Eventually you're gonna score.

It's like Corsi--shoot enough time and you get a goal. There should be a GM statistic for it. Call it "Chiarsi" or something...

I really dont understand how a 21 year old rfa should expect to make more or as much as a 2 time Norris trophy winning ufa. That screams spoiled little poop to me.
I'll gladly take the 4 1st round picks from the teams that could afford that contract.

Bobby Ryan got his points by playing with a very good center in Getzlaf.
Nylander was riding Matthews' slipstream and got points because of playing on his line and his PP.
Once you take away the great C from Ryan/Nylander, you have an ok player still - but not a guy that makes the difference in playoffs.
rather have a guy that does make a difference; either a LW/RW to replace Nylander, or a D.

Dubas has his work cut out for him. My one comfort is things are still a lot better today than they were the previous 15 years leading up to the Matthews draft. We still have regardless 2 number 1 centers, an elite d, and a decent goalie. How the rest shakes out, we shall see.
