Nylander's deal is looking better everyday... 7+mil for Hayes? My first reaction was a good chuckle...

It honestly makes Kadri more difficult.. He has been a bargain on his current contract, and if he sniffs near 30 goals again this year, he is going to get PAID, OR be pretty decent trade bait. He had an off year production wize, and I think luck had a lot to do with it. He seemed very snake bitten for a lot of the year. If he keeps getting his chances like he did last season, the production will come..

With these huge stupid contracts, Nylander's value keeps going up. Maybe it would be smart to trade him for a defenseman afterall, even after his poopty season. GMs will be looking at these signings and the idea that you can get Nylander for his current pricetag might actually be pretty attractive.

Could allow us to keep Kap, which is a very good 1a replacement for Nylander.

This would be my primary strategy if I were GM. Just put a few other crazy GMs on speed dial and call them every day, offering terrible deals. Eventually you're gonna score.

It's like Corsi--shoot enough time and you get a goal. There should be a GM statistic for it. Call it "Chiarsi" or something...
