Fletcher confirmed
- BenderRodriguez

I backed Fletcher earlier. I can not anymore. The contract without a NMC is fine. With it it's terrible. Ghost or one of TK, Linblom, or NoPa are gone

No one has any idea what the roster will look like at the expansion draft.

And honestly, I'd be more concerned trying to win with Jake and G in the next three years than putting the expansion draft ahead of all else.

How hard is it to project and the potential that they could lose a good young player? Giving Hayes a NMC is gross mismanagement.

They were always going to lose a good player with or without Hayes where they not?

Rather lose an older JvR or Jake than a TK or Lindblom

Again, the draft is not tomorrow. The roster will look different by then. You have zero idea what they're losing right now. Zero.

Yes, Fletcher has another full off season to work his magic before the ED. God I hope this team wins this year.

Still think Ghost is traded and they go 7-3-1.

just a thought...

in 2021, G will have 1 year left on his contract, and will be 33 years old. Any chance he either gets traded that year at the deadline, or before the expansion draft?

I'm with you here. Seems like a lot of term and cap space to give up while being forced to protect him with all the young pieces they have that could blossom between now and then. Obviously, a lot can happen between now and the expansion draft, but it feels like they have to win a cup in the next few years for this to be worthwhile.

No. G should be a flyer for life if he so chooses

Possibly and after dealing with Therrien for two years, he may want to leave.

You're right, we don't. But the idea that we can't look at it and see that the Flyers will lose a good player is false.

I don't understand what took so long to get the Hayes deal done. Fletcher pretty much said whatever you want, take it.
- FlyerFan16

Yeah really. Given all that Hayes got he and his agent probably could have said this day 1 and Fletcher would have said "ok".

How about keeping focused on the present where we now have an improved roster?

Is it a fair assumption to say we're mad at Hayes the contract vs Hayes the player?

I mean he has played 0 games for the Flyers. If he comes in and does what he's supposed to do, does that soften the blow of this egregious contract?

Wow I did too. Hayes really bent the flyers over. He capitulated to nothing. That is an embarrassing deal. The NMC in place through the expansion draft lol

This will be the worst contract of the summer bar none

I really like Hayes the player. As a fan, I think that the Flyers are going to be a better team and they should be a more enjoyable team to watch. So that's positive. Can't overlook other issues though.
