I don't understand what took so long to get the Hayes deal done. Fletcher pretty much said whatever you want, take it. - FlyerFan16

I'm genuinely starting to believe that he learned nothing from his time w/ the Wild.
He's gonna trade Ghost in a Burns/Leddy kind of deal. It's practically inevitable. - Tomahawk
I don’t remember the specifics of the Burns deal... what were they again? |

There is the possibility we do a two for one trade and get right back to where we were in terms of the expansion draft. |

What we have to look at is history. Teams will know the Flyers are in a bind. Other GM's may not be as kind as Fletcher. Do you know what Fletcher traded to Vegas in the expansion draft?

Again the draft isn't tomorrow. There is no pressing "bind" that needs to be resolved right now. |

The board has been pretty good today -- some of us disagree, and that's fine.
But this is better than last year, where damn near everybody knew we needed a 2C, another goalie and another defenseman, got nothing, and wound up enduring one of the most soul-crushing seasons I have witnessed
I mean, my goodness. Hakstol fired. Hextall fired. Chris Pryor relieved of his duties.
I think these moves are fine. Others disagree. The Flyers are a better team than they were, and we'll see what the future holds |

That doesn't make much sense. Obviously we're looking at the future and the possible future ramifications of the Hayes deal.
Again, do you know what the Wild gave up and for what to Vegas in the time of the expansion draft in 2017? |

Guys settle down the NTC doesnt matter. Just like the Vegas expansion draft the teams can send them a draft pick to not take certain players. There is no reason to worry about the draft. |

What the Wild gave up makes no difference. Different roster with countless different variables. Same GM. So what.
Your initial response was stupid and I have no interest in talking in circles with you. |

Hell, some guys will want to go -- didn't Fleury have to waive to go to Vegas?
I understand that no one like NMCs, but some guys waive them when they want to change their situations, too

Sure it does because history gives us an idea of what assets cost in the NHL. Same way we look at contracts of similar players to know what it might cost to sign a player. You stating that my initial response was stupid is just ignorance on your part. It's not talking circles, it's looking at the facts that we know.

It's a NMC clause in the years that the expansion draft falls and it matters a great deal.

It's the off season. Plenty of things to talk about. How the Hayes signing affects the Flyers long term is relevant conversation. Including how the NMC affects the expansion draft protected list. Nothing neurotic about it. - MJL
Talking (and getting worked up) about who will hypothetically be unprotected in an expansion draft several years away with many unforeseen circumstances yet to develop, seems pretty unnecessary, but to each their own. |

It was stupid. Do I need to go pull a two for one trade to show you that you have no idea what you're talking about??? You're clearly upset over the moves but you're not this dumb. |

It's called planning ahead. Something that Chuck Fletcher doesn't seem to take seriously. |
