There were so many great games this playoff season. The silver lining to your team not being in the playoffs is that you can just watch the games and enjoy them for the love of the game.

As for Berube, I'll just say that I guess he's better than some people thought.

I only root for one team, but the Blues winning is great. Their fans waited a long time.

Absolutely -- I enjoyed watching a few teams. I thought Columbus was actually fun to watch and that their break really hurt them. Boston might've beat them anyway, but they were clearly rusty early in that series

That's the move that, if it gets made, might make me pretty damn sour.

Ghost didn't have the best season last year. He's not Nicklas Lidstrom defensively.

But FFS, that contract is simply ridiculous value because you are getting a certain level of production that other guys simply cannot do. It baffles me that so many people are down on him -- not everybody is perfect defensively. He can get better, but he won't get better for you if you trade his arse before he has a chance to bounce back

Oh, I'm not down on him at all. I know what he is: a terrific offensive threat and slightly below average defensively. His contract is a bargain seven days a week. Add it all up and he's a shiny object that many teams would love to have.

I truly hope they understand that. At least give him the season. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. But to me, there's no need to pull that trigger now

The stomping they gave Tampa was amazing.

Talking (and getting worked up) about who will hypothetically be unprotected in an expansion draft several years away with many unforeseen circumstances yet to develop, seems pretty unnecessary, but to each their own.

Just projecting that an additional decent player will have to exposed in order to protect a 7 million dollar a year third line center

What was the off ice suspension for?

I see the deals a little higher.

6.5 for Provorov and 5 million for Konecny.

I hope you are right and I am wrong.

- MBFlyerfan

If I was a team desperate for good defense, I would throw an OS at Provorov.

Wasn't it, though? I was one of the people who didn't think Tampa took them lightly. Columbus just tore them apart physically

I almost feel bad for them in that Panarin just doesn't want to extend. It's his right, but they're gonna take a step back, though I do think they might try to extend Duchene at the last minute

I remember disagreeing with a poster on another site who insisted that O'Brien was a bad egg. He claimed to have been a former scout and that others who scouted O'Brien reported character issues. I derided him as a Hextall hater. Maybe now I owe him an apology.

Yeah, I'm sure he and Bobrovsky have the 23rd circled on their calendars.

lol, I haven't thought that far into it, but the talk for weeks on here was to OS Marner because Toronto is up against the cap. It works both ways.

He is a young kid. Don't even know what he did. Young guys sometimes do stupid stuff. Doesn't make him a bad kid. Boston College doesn't have a problem with him.

Ha! No worries. Someone worked up a pretty decent roster for the Flyers that had Provorov at 7 million that was cap compliant even with Hayes. I think higher than that isn't something I would do, but I am always curious about what people think player values are

All true. SC winner Binnginton had some rough tweets as a kid
