THIS is what 45 points per year gets you???? Over $7M per season, for SEVEN years??
Good god this contract is making my eyes bleed
This is going to be the biggest anchor in league history, three years from now |

they should have kept Sheen as 2c.
Wouldn't have cost a thing and they would be further ahead than with Hayes. |

30 teams dont win the cup every year. Its always a long shot. Look at how stacked Tampa is and they got bounced 1st round - xShoot4WarAmpsx
I was referring to bills comment of good be like homer era and rambling about ecf cup finals blah blah blah. Always the same narrative with this team. Hexys approach was right. This was always a 10 year rebuild whether these dumb flyer fans want to realize it or not. When a team has absolutely zero top prospects and extreme cap problems it takes minimum of 5-7 years to fix those issues. And another 3 years or so to turn over a roster ala la Kings. Not to mention you don’t win a cup without a goalie. 5 years after and hexy has his goalie. Debatable whether he should’ve been called up at 20 years old. Either way Hart’s gonna need a few years experience to be ready for cup run. Fletcher gonna piss all Hextall work down the drain. Hayes Braun giving away picks. Horrible fa contracts. Typical flyers |

What did Kyle Turris get 6x6 last year? I believe he is 3 years older than Hayes. I believe Hayes is a better all round player .
Don’t like the term but it is seems to be the going rate . |

Don’t ever say that again. He was a weird one. Could not believe the decline. It was like a (frank)ing magic trick. Put on a flyers jersey and POOF! Turned into a turd |

Coots averages 42 pts a season over his career. Why are you ignoring this?
You won't even have the balls to respond to this because it completely shatters your narrative |

STay away from Simmonds. He's this summer's Lucic. 30 and breaking down. Guys who play that style don't last. |

Well he "threw in Simmonds" to be any UFA signing.
Right now, our top-6 is set. If we don't fill that 3rd/4th line hole internally, it should be way less than $2M. |

Totally agree this contract is nonsense
Like Hayes as a player and could swallow the overpay
But the 7 years term are shear madness - goenzoy
All the big contracts this offseason are 6 years plus. Players want the long term guaranteed money and teams can budget long term while locking in salaries at current market value knowing that the likelihood of player salaries and the cap going up are high. |

I was ok with the Niskanen deal, not thrilled.
The Braun deal was upsetting, you don't give up a 2nd and a 3rd for a defensive d-man with 1 year left on his deal.
Overpaying for Hayes is fine. The roster needed an upgrade, 2C probably being the most glaring hole and the ripple effect makes us more dangerous down the roster.
It's not the current cap situation I'm worried about. The way the roster is being framed these are going to be the guys to steer the ship for 2 years and some mobility will be at hand afterwards (Gudas and AMac $ gone, Nisky and Braun potentially gone) and Fletcher will probably look at offing high cap hits if things don't go according to plan. The question is more do you think this roster can win as opposed to what does this mean for the current cap. These actions are a commitment to the current roster as constructed.
What bothers me is the 2nd and 3rd round picks gone. To sustain winning you need an infusion of competent players on ELC's. These picks should be held in more high esteem.
