I don’t see why people are freaking over Hayes contract. It’s about what should be expected. 7 mill is the new 5 mill🤷🏻‍♂️ Maybe a year to much, but the money seems fine to me. I saw someone say it’s top 5 worst contract in the league already and I’m like wtf are you kidding?

Because he now has the 18th AAV among centers. Is A top 20 center? I guess so!

Thank god we dodged that Hayes contract, gross over payment, with that being said I really want Panarin on this team but am deathly afraid we would be heading towards Toronto's dilemma, not enough cap room to sign an elite RFA

I think they would be ok but that's a consideration for sure. I actually think they miss on Panarin. Need that Point offersheet.

I'd like them to target Marner or Point in a trade if they fail on Panarin

Somewhere I heard, GMs around the league are feeling Florida gets him

I wonder what plan B would be? Kapanen? I’d think Kreider would be resigned in that case, probably for Hayes money

not sure, but it would be really nice if Dallas would sign Zuccarello already so we have that 1st rounder in our pocket

UFAs are all over payed. This one isn’t that bad imo. A tad lengthy, but money is pretty much on point

If the cost is anywhere near Panarin I can't see the thought process in paying a little less plus giving up multiple 1st rounders, if you're gonna do it bring in the bread man, with Buch, Kravstov, Rykov and Shesterkin it makes the most sense

Not sulking! Never sulking! Very much clear mined what the Rangers need to do! Trade Kreider! Draft Knight! Buyout Smith! Sign Hainsey, Thornton and Simmonds! FOLLOW THE ST. LOUIS MODEL!

This offseason has left me with permanent wood

And we still have Kakko to add along with free agency and hopefully some salary shedding

do we really have to ask the site to ban you so we all can enjoy the next few days? does that really have to happen?

I saw an MSG show last night with Bill Pidto hosting and they had Smith-Shattenkirk as the 4th pairing on the blueline, I mean, if that doesn't speak volumes that one of them needs to go no matter what, I don't know what does

I think the easiest thing to do is buyout Smith and that's probably what they'll do, but I hope for more

no it's open until June 30th

I think during the time they can talk to free agents, they'll have a real good idea of what they can accomplish by then

Panarin is getting 11-12 right? Considering that Stone just got 9 and some of the other contracts around the league, it seems almost inevitable. Honestly, I want him on the team, but if we didn't get him, I might not be that upset with it. I don't think he is going to regress over the contract, but whoever gets him is going to have a shade under 15% of the cap tied up in him. Kind of startling if you really think about it.
