He always seems to be hurt now, and skates like he has a full diaper. Not a fan.

I think he'd be fine in a secondary role. Not talking about plugging him into a top-6

Yeah PK/PP2 and 3rd line minutes. If someone could get him for like $3M-ish on a 2-3 year deal that'd be good.

I would still be worried about him getting injured. I know the Rangers wont be in on him, so I'm glad about that

Buch is getting 3-4 at a minimum. I believe he will be bridged, but with how he finished last year, he isn't making 4th line money.

I'm not sure what Trouba signs at. If we do the Hayes plan with him and give him 1 year, he's probably going to want in the 6 range. He's a RD and a pretty good one, that alone will get him more money. I also don't think the team traded for him with the intention of only giving him a 1 yr deal.

We don't have the time to wait until all this comes off the books. If you are signing Panarin, you need the cap space July 1st. You can wait on some of the guys in RFA, but that might not be the best look to wait too long.

No way he gets that. Buch will be 2-2.5 max

I mean there is always IR if he got hurt. I don't think a team would sign him long enough for it to be an issue

Dunno man. AA got 2 x 3m with 2 30 point seasons. Buch has 2 40 point seasons.

Anthony Mantha is almost an exact comparison and he makes over 3 million. There is almost 0 chance Buch is that low. 20 goal scorers don't grow on trees, He's not a star, but no way he's getting bottom 6 money.

This is true. I'd say the closer we are to 2.75 the better, but that is a low end number, for sure. But, it should be a manageable contract and one that we should tender. We've suffered through waiting for him to reach his potential, no reason to balk now that it appears he may have figured out how to do so.

I guess I just don't "see" him as a 3mill player, but wtf do I know.

Yeah, because people who drown their dogs are usually productive members of society.

Ryan Rishaug is reporting that the Oilers are looking for a 3rd line forward for Puljujarvi, I'd offer Vesey for him in a heartbeat, much more upside

Dallas pick to be posted once I get back to the office from the dentist. Have the Ottawa pick in hand as well and Peter Tessier, the Jets blogger picking at 20 with the pick traded to Winnipeg by New York.
