Freddie Anderson was/is not a playoff goalie. That was the difference in that series. - Return of the Roar
Bingo! He slowly crapped the bed during that series. |

Agreed.
And would be even better to find a smashmouth power forward to play LW with them both. - Return of the Roar
Saad is not “smash mouth” - but he is a LW power forward and his numbers are far better when he plays on the top line. The Saad-Toews-Kane line would be the Hawks best line 1 option - hopefully there is enough roster depth for JC to set it up. |

Work is slow right now and I'm going out of town tomorrow, so I went home around lunch time to finish up watching the five players in consideration.
I am firmly - read: FIRMLY - on the Bowen Byram express. In fact, I am the train conductor on this ride. I will be utterly disappointed if he is not the pick. He simply has the highest upside of any player at 3, and simply taking another player due to need (read: Turcotte, Dach) is doing a disservice. I trust that Stan and Co. reinforce their belief in "having a core player for the next 15 years" and do the right thing in drafting Byram. There's a reason no one else would trade up for anyone else but him.
My pick if going with a forward is Zegras. If you're not taking the best d-man in the draft (and likely your team's #1 new prospect), you take the player with the most skill, regardless of where they are slotted. I don't care if Zegras is mocked anywhere from 5-9. No one will remember him being picked at 3 anyways if he ends up becoming the player that he can be. Zero doubt in my mind he is a perennial NHL all-star.
If neither of these guys are picked, then it's a coin-flip for me in regards to Dach/Cozens/Turcotte. To me, all three players are virtually tied. I didn't see enough out of them to differentiate one another. They are all more or less equal to me. I trust Mark Kelley if that's the route they choose to go.
Either way, tired of speculating. Friday can't come soon enough. - TommyHawk

Almost everyone I talk to in NHL management are bewildered they won’t know the salary cap numbers (specifically the Upper Limit) for next season until Saturday. Teams will be operating blind thru the 1st round of the Draft. |

Agree with you on 1 thing Friday can't come soon enough .Byram scares me . I think he has bust written all over him ,but I have been wrong on Draft before . He also has the highest ceilings ,and I think Stan like that over a safer pick .So I will live with Byram if he the man ,I just hope we are not watching Dach and Cozens dominating the west for years to come . Also If Turcotte is taken I will throw something ,not really I will hope for the best and give the kid the benefit of the doubt

Should we draft Dach/Cozens/Turcotte is there any chance
he plays on top line w/19-88. What better way to develop
these kids than to play with 2 of the best of all time in real
time.....
But I'm thinking we draft BB and trade Gus++ to get a second
1st round choice to draft a center, just a guess.
Any chance of this trade happening, Cat/Strome/Forsling to Buff for
Ristolainen/Mittlestadt and their first rounder?
Imagine if all this happened, getting one of Boldy/Cozens/Dach/Turcotte
plus BB plus maybe Knight or a Kaliyev, what a draft that would be,
again only my 2 cents

It’s totally unacceptable from a professional stand point. If there are deadlines for draft, RFA and UFA, there should be one for cap. |

Another way to look at it is being afraid of him and passing and having the Avalanche take him and he turns out to be a true #1 Dman for the next decade.

Ya could be .I think if we take Byram at 3 Cozens and Dach will go 4 /5 and if we take Turrcotte at 3 Cozens and Byram go 4/5 and there is some laughter .. I said if Turrcotte is taken I will live with it .Should he falter I will be disappointed that a PR stunt IMO crippled this team future |

This is no different than a company announcing earnings 7 days after the year ends - never happens. Financials just take time to process. |

If Turcotte gets drafted, it's not a PR stunt
His numbers, skill are right there with the rest of the tight bunch.
Scouts arent scouts very long (and not as long or respected as Mark Kelly) if they draft guys for PR reasons |

Which suburb? - RaleighHawk
My av was taken at Xtreme Ice Arena (note the Solo advert on the boards ... ). Although lately it seems more like Bibra Lake (Cockburn Ice Arena). I guess just leave it as wherever there are rinks.
