Honestly it’s depressing to me to see Perry bought out. Like his contract obviously sucks and it was the right move but kind of an end of an era over there. - Victoro311
I hear ya. I never met him but Getzy and Selanne are both super nice. Looking back, the contract was just one year too long really. If it wasn’t a matter of Seattle protection then it likely doesn’t happen, right? Ducks fans must be torn. I haven’t reached out to any of my OC buddies yet but I know a girl who meets with Murray and I can see her crying and shaming him for buying him out lol |

2-3 sounds about right and I guarantee JR would be interested. I think Perry rushed himself back from that injury and could bounce back to be a solid power forward again. - MacPatty
Does really fit his MO lately of trying to get younger. 3 RWs in their 30s isn't going to help there. |

I agree... and that's why something like Pulj for Rust is somewhat interesting. Should save a couple mill on the cap.
Beyond just Rusty's few clutch playoff goals...his speed and play style jives with our identity. I'd be a little scared to trade him tbh. - YouMeAndDupuis9
Rust's spot sure seems vulnerable. Kahun, McCann, and Simon all much cheaper as top 9 options. |

Kevin Hayes received a full no-move clause for the first three years of his deal with Flyers - which offers expansion draft protection - and a 12-team limited no-trade clause for the remaining years.
So Hayes also got trade protection. |

I’m still ok with it. They were smart and walked away from Simmonds. They upgraded and figure to be in the playoff discussion which will help generate additional revenue over last season. It is what it is. It’s nice that we don’t need to be a part of this and that Kessel’s trade value is inching upward but also so is Zucker’s |

Gonna have to take a peak at the Flyers board after reading this little bit of news.

Final figure for the cap will be released Saturday. That’s pretty brutal that it’s so late |
|

Coyotes owner has been approved to buy the team. They will certainly be active in bringing in a top 6 forward, even the players know it |
|
|

Jaromir Joe Thornton says he’s got 5 years left in the league still lol I love it |

That's ludicrous. So teams won't even know the exact number before the 1st round of the draft. That's so NHL. |

With the sale of the Coyotes going through now, it could mean new ownership approves of a big trade and Phil is shipped out without any money coming back. - burgh4life87
That's actually pretty big news. Even though the Kessel -> Arizona never made logical sense to me, there seems to be enough smoke to make me believe ARI is on his 8 team list.

Same. Too much chatter to make me believe that there isn't a hint of truth. |

So far, most of the rumors I've read say Arizona is trying to leverage that into getting Phil for almost nothing and possibly getting the Pens to keep some salary. |

If that happens, unless it came from ownership, JR should be fired on the spot.

TIOPS reported the Pens had interest in Edler and the nucks have approached the Pens about Horny’s availability. |

I don't think he is that stupid either but I've read/heard the same rumors. |

Rumors that AZ is making those attempts aren’t the same as JR being rumored to consider them. |

Horny to Vancouver makes sense. He did really well with Pettersson at the worlds.
But hasn’t JR learned his lesson from already over paying a 30+ Year old dman to a long contract? I’m ok with Edler if both Johnson and Gudbransson are gone and it’s no more than a 3 year deal |

It’s tiops so take everything with a grain of salt. Van really wants Letang, so unfortunately Edler would probably only be coming here if Tang was going the other way. That makes me throw up a little in my mouth.

I just read that the canucks were close to resigning him, I thought he was going to make it to free agency. There’s really no sense in trading for Edler unless it was some Edler/Hornqvist swap and JR had a deal to send JJ somewhere |

I wouldn't totally discount a low return for Phil. Especially if Rutherford feels he can spend that money differently in UFA. |
