Yeah typo, meant to write 60 - James_Tanner
On pace for 63 points last year, without playing with Auston Matthews.
Gotta be worth $7m min as a UFA

Gudas and Macdonald are better than Niskanen and Braun. By a lot. - James_Tanner
good God. The funny thing is you really believe that and that is ok. By all means i am sure the analytics will back you up 100%.
My guess is you have all 4 play a combined what? enough to count on both hands with digits left over. |

I agree with you James. Did you read the article on the Athletic, detailing their scouting approach, where they debate players and in the room is not just the scouts, but also a skating guru, and behavioral psychologist, an analyst, and Chayka/Sullivan. If not, go read it! It’s amazing.
Not only is Chayka already one of the best GMs, he is just getting started. He is changing the game and while other teams employ a million scouts to go watch games, he has set up a central ops that dissects video and delivers it to scouts, analysts, doctors, former players...and they get a much broader opinion of a player. He won’t be fired anytime soon, and the results are going to be fun to watch.

So Chayka and the Coyotes are laughing ???
If any franchise has been a laughing stock for over a decade in this league it’s Phoenix.
New owner every 2-3 years sometimes the league dabbles in the ownership lol
Keep laughing Coyotes |

Don't want to come of troll-ish just because I disagree but thats why I read your articles, we think way differently. You overplay the top players thats the NHL, thats how teams keep players and what prevents them from becoming a perpetual building team like the coyotes (as a sabres fan a know this all to well, which seems to be changing recently). Every blog of yours I read sounds like a desperate sabres fan over the past 10 years "were great on paper!" or "We are going to be great in a few years". As long as your are not overpaying your lower tier players your fine. Build a core, over pay if you must and fill the rest of your roster with complimentary non-overpaid interchangeable players- am i wrong here?
All i can say is as a fan you deserve better than consistently looking to the future.
The contracts of these "over paid" players are easy to get out of eventually, enough so that it shouldn't prevent you from trying to get good, otherwise you are building FOREVER!

he Coyotes - despite their lack of high-end scoring, have the makings of an awesome team. If Schmaltz and Chychrun take another step forward, if Keller rebounds and Hayton makes the team - look out.
If, if and if
Even if, still no
And what is “the makings of an awesome team”? Awesome teams are teams like TB and Boston. SJ, Washington, Pittsburgh. Perineal playoff teams you don’t bet against.

Very, very, very unfortunate typo.
Perhaps the worst in the history of Hockeybuzz.

So I guess you think the Nelson deal is horrible, just like the Hayes deal?
Only stupid thing w/ Hayes is that he didn't wait til 7/1 to see what other options would be available |
