New CBA has got to have some sort of cap on how much a player can earn coming off of their ELC if they salary cap is only going to slowly inch up each year. Either that or they need to make contract non-guaranteed against the cap so guys can be released without it counting against the teams cap. Otherwise this league is gonna be screwed in a few years when middle six guys are making almost 5-6M a year and the cap is still only at 85.5M

You don't have guaranteed contracts AND a hard cap. Recipe for disaster. Bettman is a moron. Either go NFL style of NBA style, this doesn't work. |
