To trade a bust for a better winger and a 2nd round pick?
- Blackstrom2

Didnt know there was a 2nd involved I don't think I'd want Burakovsky, though.

Probably. NJ is dreadfully thin at RW, even if Pulju tops out as a 3rd line RW it's worth moving Wood who is probably going to be pinned as a 3rd-4th line LW and PP guy on NJ. Would rather move Zacha though seeing as the Devils will be running Nico-Hughes-Zajac as C1-3 for the next two seasons unless Zajac falls off a cliff.

I can see the sense in that.

So how’s about Wood and Zacha for Puljujarvi and a 2nd?

Maybe but I want Holland to take the Yzerman approach when Drouin demanded out.....don’t cave until you get the right deal
- RatedR80

I 100% agree.

(frank)ing Hell!!! Then that goofy looking (frank) can go (frank) off to Europe for all I care. We’ll still own the bastards rights.

Hopefully Holland doesn’t cave.

My feelings exactly

Holland doesn’t want to sell low and JPs agent is trying to force the issue.....that’s not really a fight JP can win....him going to Europe and driving up how trade value is a win tho
- RatedR80

If he does go to Europe does his UFA date slide further back?

I’m no expert on the subject but if it’s based on NHL seasons played then I would have to assume that games in Europe don’t count and it would slide back

Not sure how long, but they would own his rights for a while. Once again not sure how long but they have a couple/few years of rights ownership.

Secondly, i saw it brought up elsewhere, how would we feel about Georgiev for Puj? I'm not sure about it. Kind of cant decide if i like it or hate it. We have some young depth in net below the NHL level, but need a 1b for now and Georgiev appears competent at that. Goalies are a crapshoot coming up, and all ours could look great coming up and disappear once up. And if 1 or more become something it gives us an extra chip down the line.

I think i am in favor but am still not sold yet, but that may be more on our end and what happens to our goalies once the big club handles them for a year or two recently.

Trades I would like to see us make.

Lucic for Eriksson. Get it done already. It has been talked about lots. Both players need a change of scenery. Lucic will have to agree to waive his NMC for the expansion draft so they don’t have to protect him to make it fair and so the Oilers don’t have to add.

Kadri + Kapanen for Benning + Khaira + 2nd. Leafs need cap relief bad. Many of their young players could be offer sheeted. They’re right up against the cap. Kadri is coming off a down year and is on the outs after his suspension in the playoffs. Kapanen is at risk of being offer sheeted. Benning and Khaira give cap relief and are under team control. Kadri also gives us another option at centre if we eventually move on from Nuge.

Ristolainen for Puljujärvi + Russell + 3rd. Ristolainen is coming off a bad year but the guy hits like a truck and has put up 40 points four years in a row.

Bernier for Sekera. Gives us a decent backup. Detroit needs D. Gives us a small amount of cap relief.

Hopefully Holland can shake things up in this poophole. I don’t know how many more seasons we have of failure before Connor wants out.

Read somewhere that he wouldn't be a UFA until he was 27

Good, let that entitled female dog rot in Europe throughout his entire prime.

Over the past 24 hours I’ve turned hard on him.

He and his agent certainly haven't done much to help his development.

So... what do you guys think about Slava Voynov?

LA Kings said they have no interest in signing him, but they do retain his rights... So what about a trade for his rights? His suspension is for 41 games this season but he is at the age of 29 (Turned 29 this January) so he still has a good amount gas in the tank (also noted from his performance in the KHL). He has already been successful at the NHL level and is a proven commodity.

The guy has done his time (including 2 months in Jail) and IMO, should get a second chance.

We took a flyer on Kassian and it worked out. Perhaps the same can be said for Voynov?

What I propose is JP's rights and Russell for Voynov's rights.

Thoughts?

I’m not too familiar with what’s in the Rangers system for goalies but isn’t he being groomed to take over the starting position once Henrik retires? If so I can’t see the Rangers doing that deal
