Not to offend the vast majority of Canucks fans but they really don't have a clue what they want and what it takes to get there.
Sure the fans want PO's and they will be coming soon enough...but the fans need to show some patience and get on board with the plan here. It's slow...but it's working. If they don't like it they can go cheer for another team lol - LordHumungous
We have different opinions on what a fan is. Mine is not those who buy or get a freebie ticket. Bandwagoners & selfie dummies need not apply. A fan imo not only follows their team but knows their hockey. Our fanbase to be polite is strange now & always was. More of a mob mentality. |

Corey Perry should get an invite to camp. |

It’s been 7 years and we still don’t know what the fu@k the plan actually is. I disagree. People do know what they want. I gave Benning the benefit of the doubt for the first four years but time is running short and we are into a huge chunk of time with Benning. He hasn’t been extended for a reason. |

Injuries hold us back almost every year.
Other than that he is under the microscope & TG as well. Any GM who can figure out how the team could be healthier is gold. |

Since injuries are our Waterloo, we need to turn over the roster faster. And to do this a full pipeline of prospects that are pushing for jobs is a must. Older players break down and cost more. |

That is an example of draft & develop which we are in the midst of. UFA’s are necessary to buy the time & better yet if they can be key contributors. |

I always say everyone can think how they want, that is what makes it fun.
My take on the 5 years is 3 x Calder top 3 (Pettersson Hughes and Boeser) .
The best cap situation in the league.
Demko Woo Madden all very promising
Good college prospects
Reasonably priced contracts aside from Eriksson
I think with the D prospects I am glad he is not going long term with UFAs

I agree, its not all doom and Dim Jim. He seems to be learning and drafting well. Just dont hamstring us with bad long term FA deals. |

Smart UFA signings on younger players with perceived upside. Not established vets on downside of careers for long term with NTC/ NMC just because they did it before playing on the East Coast. Western travel is a big difference. |

Then thank Gillis for his lack of development. Rebuilds are slow and piss me off. I’m just venting. Drafting has been fairly good but other teams have been drafting well also. Calgary buffalo Edmonton TO Winnipeg etcetera. |

So what's the Edler deal??? if its 4 years than JB can go (frank) himself
if it's 3 years at the reported 5-5.5M can hit and a limited NTC then I can live with it, but only if Tanev is then dealt. 5-5.5M for Edler is solid with the cap counting to go up, he can easily be moved down the road as long as the limited NTC isn't something stupid where he can only go to like 5 or 6 teams.

We’ll regret trading Tanev. No matter how well Quinn Hughes does this year, he would have done better partnered with Tanev. No other Canuck Dman offers the anticipatory hockey IQ/selfless game that greaseball would to allow Hughes to go buck. |

The only thing you can count on from Corey Perry now is stupid penalties. Guys who play the game like Perry can't ease themselves into retirement. They fade fast. |

It's a shame he tried to re-tool for the first 3 years. |
