Gardiner would help us more for scoring but the cap takes a hit.
5/6m is my best offer. - Nighthawk
Bos D 151 points combined.
Stl D 156 points combined
Van 135 points combined.
A healthier D and Hughes would probably bring us close if not pass both of those teams. Canucks need better D from the D and more scoring from the forwards.
Gardiner doesn't really provide better D. |

Perfectly fine! Should have better younger guys coming up at that point and could use the extra spot on the team.
I think a lot of GMs learned after the Vegas expansion. - NewYorkNuck
I thought of Lind or Gadj but they might not need protecting.

Jesse Puljujarvi has made it clear to the Edmonton Oilers he wants to be traded. He wants a fresh start to his young NHL career. It’s believed the Oilers are willing to accommodate, but won’t give him away and intend on being patient in finding a right fit.
Would like to take a chance on him, if the cost isn't too high. |

Lind's scoring actually doubled in the back half of the season.
6 points in first 25 games and 11 in the last 26.
I'd expect probably 50 points in 70 games for him this season in Utica. Might put him on the radar of Seattle. |

As much as I wanted Edler to move on at least now Canucks don't need to sign a stupid contract. - VANTEL

Sounds like he is being traded to the Capitals for Burakovsky, 2nd and goalie prospect. According to EK. |

He provides much better breakouts hence better scoring for forwards.

Now that Edler has re upped it doesn't matter anyways. I don't think Van needs to pay 5/6 for a 3rd pairing left side defender. |

I'd think there will be lots of middling-type prospects the Canucks have at that time. Barring big signings or trades, there's two spots for forwards and two for D to be protected, so they'll have wiggle room to not lose anyone showing promise. |

Gaudette

Signing a forward signed long term this season puts Van at a full 7 forwards. With Lind, Gad, Zac Mac showing a bit of promise in the minors.
Leivo, Goldy, Baertschi might break out.
Van does have the potential to lose a good forward. Defence there's no potential to lose anything. |

I've said it before, no player is worth four 1st round picks. - Marwood
McDavid? What if your a good team. So your picks are in the 20's every year. Then you add McD? I'd say he is worth that and more. If I'm a team like the Canucks who like to lose lotteries but still pick in the 1st 10....then no. |

Eh, also two years away, so maybe Jake doesn't grow at all or is traded, Pearson cools off... still lots of variables! I'm just saying that losing a promising but more-than-likely depth forward for the Canucks isn't going to break us. We'll be on the upswing at that time, but not in a dire situation that other teams who are loaded will be in.

Oh, I didn't pay much attention. He was listed as needing protected on capfriendly.
EK also has rumour that Buffalo is after Subban. That's a lot of RHD no wonder Van is talking to them about Risto or Bogo. |
