It's my ranking not a prediction.

I think Chi or LA takes him.

Hard to do Mocks but waiting for a plane....

Hughes
Kakko
Byram
Dach - I think this pick is traded
Podzolkin
Turcotte
Caulfield
Boldy
Cozens
Zegras

- belcherbd

I figured as much & was just adding my 2 bits bro

What does history tell us?

Miller isn't great in his own end but was only benched a few games but also had injuries. I don't think he is a top pairing guy but would help the PP a lot.

- belcherbd

Ideal to pair with a Defensive D man who are easier to draft & develop or found as a UFA.

Don’t see how tanev is dealt, not until his value goes up (big if). GM would really have to love him, im sure a few do. Love to hear that JB is working the phone though.
- neem55

I don’t see Tanev traded til we have RHD to bump him out. That doesn’t seem anytime soon.

Ok but wasting a year of our cap advantage is not a good tactic. Also UFA’s get max or overpaid in every city. Eg Hayes $7.1m
- Nighthawk

Spending your cap advantage is a good way not to have it anymore. I think we're a year or two away from adding a high priced UFA.

Are the Oilers really willing to trade JP for a 3rd line player? Hell i'd give them 2 of them.

Sutter, Leivo, Pearson, Sven, I'd say let the Oilers pick who they want out of the bunch.

Worth a flyer, worst case he busts and all you lost was a replaceable 3rd liner. Best case, he develops into a legitimate top 6 player. That kind of trade is a no-brainer if the Oilers are willing to sell that low on him.

Is spending to mean use it all or reading between imaginary lines?

How would an OS to Kapanen not have it anymore?

Not utilizing & sitting on a cap advantage & it may as well not exist. Only so much needs to be earmarked for future raises unless went to the Dubas school of capology & throw around multiple 10-11m+ contracts. Staggering them out is but one step.

Other contracts will expire as the years go by. Capology isn’t difficult. Projections is only a guesstimate for guidelines to ear mark cap. Cost certainty on ELC’s is the key. Keep the pipeline stocked & healthy.

In the JB’s we trust.

So what's the Edler deal??? if its 4 years than JB can go (frank) himself

if it's 3 years at the reported 5-5.5M can hit and a limited NTC then I can live with it, but only if Tanev is then dealt. 5-5.5M for Edler is solid with the cap counting to go up, he can easily be moved down the road as long as the limited NTC isn't something stupid where he can only go to like 5 or 6 teams.

- Nucker101

I'm hearing they are aggressively shopping Tanev as Edler gets closer to signing.

Interesting and a good outcome, if true. I’ll wait to hear the official announcement, because the rumours vary a fair bit on term & conditions.

Exactly. So much noise on Twitter it’s easy for people to get up in arms.

2 years = fantastic
3 years = acceptable with modified NMC
4 years = gross

Freidman just congratulated Daliwahl on his coverage of the signing so maybe it does have some truth.

Top 6 F & RHD is not a splash?
Contradicts stay the course.

- Nighthawk

Not really...just filling a couple of needs.

A splash would be Panarin, Lucic, Gardiner, Ferland....etc etc

We’ll regret trading Tanev. No matter how well Quinn Hughes does this year, he would have done better partnered with Tanev. No other Canuck Dman offers the anticipatory hockey IQ/selfless game that greaseball would to allow Hughes to go buck.
- DrChristianTroy

Too risky to keep him for 40 games/yr.

We're fine without the Sedins we'll be fine without Tanev. Just too bad he's not taking Edler with him.

Canucks have 3 RHD in the system that could be ready 1-2 years.

Tryamkin Rafferty and Woo . I don't see them jumping in on a guys like Myers for 6 years. I will still say Ristolainen or Zaitsev.

Both have reasonable cap hits.

So does Lulongo go on the LTIR retire or try to come back and play? Unfortunately it does affect us.

my guess:
* tries to play in the fall
* is declared medical unfit to play
* goes on LITR
* collects pay cheques until the end of his contract
