That’s a fair assessment if for Marner. Just imagine him on our PP. lol
- Nighthawk

Your team would instantly be better . You should be in the playoffs if you have Marner EP Brock and Bo in top 6

I agree with your scouting report. I like his competitiveness and all around game, but just like Podkolzin, I don’t think they have high end offensive upside in the NHL.
- Nucker101

Makes me think of Jason Zucker but maybe a bit better.

I'd say the same about Podkolzin, just nothing that stands out enough. Reminds me of a Jake Debrusk.

Depends on the make up of the team though. Van's considered a bit soft but they also lack the playmaker skill.

Krebs doesn't really fit into a "tougher winger" or a "skilled" player.

I would take Edler any day at three years over the rumored Garder at 7x7
- VANTEL

Edler-Stetcher
Hughes-Myers

That is avast improvement on our top 4 from last season. With trades maybe something like:

Edler-Risto
Hughes-Myers
Benn-Stetcher

I like the looks of that.

With Edler signed, he'll probably trade for younger D.

10.5 is 2x firsts, a second, and a third.

I would have to consider it, then.

Edler deal is not done yet and not sure reports of 3 years is accurate. Still expect it to get done. #Canucks

Gardiner would help us more for scoring but the cap takes a hit.
5/6m is my best offer.

It would be a GM taking advantage of cap space

My mistake it would be a 10,148,000.00 Offer sheet.

He is looking for 7.5 x 7 and there will be a bidding war. Take Edler 3 years move Tanev for a second. and make your trade .

Seattle wouldn't pick a 36 yr old Dman that has one year left. It was a no brainer that he didn't need protection.
- VANTEL

Just a quick phone call from his agent to Seattle's GM. "Oh BTW, if you happen to select him, Alex plans to retire. He wants to get into training for triathlons with his pals."

We will probably lose a guy like Leivo or some other mid ranked guy or a Stecher.

Edler Hughes
Gardiner Tanev
Sautner Stetcher
Rafferty Schenn

Edler 3/6m NMC for 2yrs
Gardiner 5/6m LNTC

Decent depth & RHD versatility when injuries. Cap hit is very liveable. Good mix of pairings & offense. Hutton if cheaper than last contract in for Sautner. 2/2.5m

7/7.5m is a no for me. Edler is more sensible.

🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨

Multiple reports suggesting Alex Edler and the Canucks have agreed on a 3-year deal between $5M to $5.5M per season. The deal includes a modified no-movement clause that allows Edler to be exposed in the Seattle expansion draft.

More details to come.

Perfectly fine! Should have better younger guys coming up at that point and could use the extra spot on the team.

I think a lot of GMs learned after the Vegas expansion.

Not terrible. Good on the cap hit. Expansion was the sticking point for most here, so good on JB

As much as I wanted Edler to move on at least now Canucks don't need to sign a stupid contract.
