They are comparable only in the sense of their placement in the lineup.
Subban is unquestionably worth more than Bogosian. But that contract is woof central, and may hinder us in building a balanced roster. Dahlin is about to surpass Subban's offense for 8M less.
I'm simply against paying another guy who can't defend and is injury prone 9M. That's all. That's exactly what Nashville is thinking too. And they need a buyer. - TheSabresTaco
So you’re saying you can read their minds? |

I thought it was Kalinin for iginla
And
Miller + Stanford for OV - jdfitz77
There were rumors of Peca for Iginla and Peca for the #1 pick which became Kovalchuk back in the day. |

I might buy that. Nylander is much more skilled and Olofsson is more polished. IMO.But he'd be a top guy no doubt. - TheSabresTaco
I don't think Nylander is a top 100 prospect anymore. |

Because this team stinks and has stunk for years now, you don't pin your future on a goalie of all positions, or should we continue to let Eichel and Company waste away ? - SABRES 89

Scandella's been regressing for 3 years straight. He should be one of the top priorities to address. - TheSabresTaco
Think we can get anything for him now though?
Best bet might be to hope he can play decent on the 3rd pair & then move him for a mid round pick at the deadline
I’d be ok trading him for a low round pick right now,
but I’m not adding to get rid of him
Not unless we need the Cap Space for some other move
We’ve got plenty of time to figure that out though |

Only players on ELC's and 35+ contracts can receive a performance bonus. Perry is 34. - Sabresfan-365
I read something early that because of his buyout he is eligible for the bonus structure type contract
I am trying to find the article now
It's from the athletic: "Because Perry missed more than 100 days due to the knee issue, he is eligible to sign a one-year deal with a low base salary but earn a lot more in individual and team bonuses. And his camp could be willing to do that.
Edit so it was because of his injury |

I don't disagree with JBott's future. No one knows it. I disagree with the idea that he lost on purpose. But you know that.
And, obviously, everyone 'wants' Dahlin. Win, lose, and everything in between, 31 teams want him. - TheSabresTaco
Fair enough
I think we each have an opinion and we won't be changing that opinion anytime soon

Send McCabe and Wilson (add a 6th if needed) to Edmonton for Puljujarvi and Russell.
Send Okposo and Bogo to Ottawa for Ryan and Borowiecki.
Sign Benn
Sign Magnus Pääjärvi
Skinner Eichel Reinhart
Olofsson Mitts Nylander
Puljujarvi Larsson Pääjärvi
Girgs Erod Ryan
Dahlin Russell
Benn Risto
Borowiecki Montour - adambuffalo
All kinds of no thank you here
Puljujärvi is the only guy brought in that I’m even remotely interested in
That 2nd line needs to be our 3rd line if we are going for the playoffs this year |

Ah my mistake.
If you've played 400 games and have missed 100 days in the last year of your deal you're eligible for performance bonuses on a one year deal. |

Who knows how his knee is holding up
But I would rather have him in the locker room over a guy like Pommer
I like Pommer but Corey Perry and his leadership is something that locker room could use.
Even him at 75% can help this team |

Thing is, given his age and that it's his knee...Why would he be after a performance bonus heavy deal?
I think at this point he's more likely to take a pay cut on the total potential dollars in exchange for security. |

Sounds like the talk on Ristolainen is picking up. Nothing is imminent at this point, but TB still feels like the most likely landing spot if a trade happens. VAN and FLA have been in the mix as well.
Does this guy have sources? Or is he just an analytic guy? |

maybe a little lower on the dollars but i think that's about right in terms of what gets him signed. |

Because he's made ~83M in just salary over the course of his career, and a lower contract $ prolly puts more suitors out there with the ability to afford them, as the bonuses roll to the next year. Just a thought. |
