Whoa there pump the brakes, I didn't expect 20 goals between the two in all honesty but it was even worse than I could have thought. - BeadyEyedDouche
Many expected 20goals from Berglund alone
After all, he was coming off a 17goal season in just 57games (or something like that)
At the very least, both were supposed to be solid middle6 players for us
We know how it turned out |

Because I played the odds that two #1 seeds wouldn’t get knocked out in a first round playoff series ? (First time ever that happened) I was wrong about the Blues winning the cup this year ? Who on this board predicted the Blues winning the whole thing ?
If ROR doesn’t start to decline by age 29 then I’ll welcome more of your disdain. However all of my predictions are predicated on future results. Just because I don’t pile on Tage like 80% of this board does that makes me wrong too that he doesn’t have a chance of becoming an NHL player ?
Am I wrong about thinking Skinner doesn’t deserve $9M when every media outlet in the world says he’s overpaid ? Once again predicated on future results and if he lights the world on fire I’ll happily fall on the sword. - Pegullaville
In all fairness it's hard to say who's right and wrong in our discussions.
I do feel like you are not right on everything posted above.
Including skinner
Now all the other teams have to pay their players based partially off of skinners #'s. Similar to stone in vegas.
He was an absolute must signing, the season ticket base has been pushed beyond their limits. Letting skins go, would have crushed the revenue flow.
Big deal, 1 extra million or less a year |

Oh, I want more scoring more than anyone, try increasing the size of the (frank)ing net. Not this bullpoop that will result in 2 more O-Zone FOs a game. Hence the quotes around "increased scoring". - Wetbandit1
Yeah, you’re right
But the NHL moves at a snail’s pace with making changes
I know it’s a small step
But hopefully they are finally recognizing that we need more scoring,
and this will lead to bigger changes like net size, etc |

I was right for a few months, then the Stanley Cup Final happened. I said his play started to tail off in mid January and it did. His play during the first half of the season though and in the Stanley Cup final made that trade absolutely worth it for St.Louis. Nobody in that city will care now what he does for the reminder of his tenure there, at least they should not. He brought them the cup and Armstrong, like Masai Ujuri, looks like a genius for shooting his shot. |

Dude...
Even if they lost in Round1,
they still got a really good player for “parts”
We should be so lucky to see Botts pull off a deal like that tomorrow
You really got let this crap go

They took their shot and it worked out.
Just imagine if they didn’t go to Binnington or didn’t fire Yeo?
Sabres would be in a much better spot
But we lost that one |

Even if the pick ended up being better,
the rest of what we got sucked
Take what we got from StL...
tell me you wouldn’t give that up for a really good 2way 2C
I sure as heck would |

With how much other mediocre centers are getting paid right now?
Yeah, I’d absolutely take it.
But I want the ROR that was a Selke caliber player though.
I think he really underwhelmed at times.
Oh well. It’s done |
