Pears is the kind of wienerly bastard that can def. help a team ...Ducks just have so many RW coming they couldn’t keep him for that $$
Rakell / Kase / Silf / Terry ...
But his hands have never left him and around the net he’s deadly.
Word is the knee is fully healthy... he was never fast or swift but on PP and 3rd line he’d be a nice add .. and Buffalo being close to London added bonus. - dozerD10
Nice info. Here.
If healthy he’s the perfect amount of talent, experience, leadership and toughness this team has lacked for a decade. |

Risto is paid like a 2nd pairing D-man.
He needs to be used as such.
The Sabres need to get him a good partner. (Krug cough)
Krug-Risto as your 2nd pair is pretty damn good IMO. |

Sorry, but I am not sold on Caufield. Any of the guys not named Krebs is good with me. I noticed that nobody talks about Boldy...Cozens, Zegras, Dach, Boldy or come combo is likely to be there at 7. I'm ok with those 4. Not that I have any real clue....
I'd move Okposo for Neal, no hesitation. I'd like to see Zucker here, especially being that motivated.
2C is important...but when we were really good, we had 61-9-26 as a third line. If the second if fixed..the third must be able to roll out on regular shifts.
53-9-92
41-XX/23-xx/23
43-37-71
28-22-26
That's a bottom 10 team.
There is a lot of surgery needed and not enough propofol to fix the team in one off season.
At least this post isn't about #90. - SyrSabreFan
I can combine the two. Botterill doesn't get a pass because there's too much work to do. His roster surgery started when he acquired a flamingo and THE slowbotka last season. You very well may be right, but Botterill owns this roster now.
A bottom 10 finish is on him now, not Murray |

Great info. Do you think he could handle 2nd line minutes or is he just over the age wall?
He has played a lot of hockey with the deep playoff runs.
I hated Buffalo playing him because he would just push them around and after whistle scrums he would start/Finish.
Does he still have that nastyness in him? |

Dear lord, why? He has an elite scowl but he is god awful, and he's horrible at 5-on-5, where we're already terrible. I'm sure there's a truculent FA we can pay a million dollars to hit stuff and look tuff. Signing Kaleta today would probably have a more positive impact.
With all due respect - jcragcrumple
Sure we can sign someone cheaper with grit but then they take up a roster spot and add salary. The point people miss here is Okposo is gone. Lucic salary isn’t an “extra” 6 million (which is horrible) it’s even with an okposo swap.
Okposo is done. He hurts us on a scoring line and can’t play a 4th line role. Lucic benefits us more playing a grit 4th liner then okposo helps us being on a scoring line imo. Both suck and both are overpaid but at least one would fit a role here. |

We have enough passers imo .
Saying no to Cole because of the size would be a huge mistake - gerbe75pts
You know how I feel about Caufield, I don't need to say it for the hundredth time. We need a center. Zegras was interviewed twice by the Sabres. He's the guy.
If Caufield struggles scoring at Wisconsin, he'll be a bust in the NHL. Playing with Turcotte will help him though. The hype machine on the midget is in overdrive. Buyer beware.
edit- and the last time we drafted a winger in the first round looks like a bust. |

But will they still need a center in 2-3 years when/if he's ready to play in the league?
A team's roster needs changes from year-to-year. |

Probably not. Eichel, Mitts, Asplund, Zegras/Cozens is a damn good center group long term to me.
Hey, we could draft a dman with 7 as BPA and we drafted enough dmen last year. BPA is over rated, you have to look at your team needs. |

He’s on the last year of his deal and will reportedly seek $7M+. Either Kukla or someone on The Athletic said Sweeney is listening to offers. |

I know they do. I like thinking a little outside the box and with all of these centers projected to go in the first, I would like to get one of them. Maybe the BPA at 7 is a center? I hope so. |

Hmmmm. Sabres home jerseys are 50% off at the adidas store.
Could be something, could be nothing
https://twitter.com/tybuf.../1141501238456082433?s=21 - ImThatGuy
They can't change the jerseys until next year (3 year rule)
This will be the 3rd year with the Adidas jerseys
My understanding is they will wear their 50th anniversary jerseys at home very often like a 50/50 split between them and the traditional home jerseys.
Also they"leaked" part of their 50th anniversary jersey...it was blue at least the part they leaked.
So who knows if the rumors of the white jersey with white pants is true

I’d take a Sedin Jersey and a 7th for Bogo. At this point they’d be doing us a favor. |

Most definitely he’s still a piece of work ... and whoever signs him will be getting a very motivated player and he loves that face wash after the whistle stuff, he thrives on it.
He was never the fighter Getzlaf was or is, but he’ll drop the gloves and most importantly he never gets hurt in a fight, knows how to protect himself and slip punches tie guys up. |
