If I'm not mistaken, I believe he had mono for a couple months before the draft. That was part of his falling. For months he was in the top 3 conversation.

I think GM's have a sense of what the cap will be, within $500K or so and they can work within that. We might not see as many major trades but there will be activity for sure.

I'm sure they have a good feel for what it is but why does the NHL drag it's heels so long on this, knowing that teams want to begin they're roster tweaks & overhauling around this time of year. Teams should know firm at least a good 2 weeks prior to the draft or when the but-out window starts.

Who says they need his cap space? I don't see the Sabres hurting, unless they not only sign Panarin or Duchene, but also figure out how to sign them to bananas contracts and not damage the team cap for the long term.

Then, you need to replace a mid pairing RD. With... with what. Will Borgen?
