They would almost have to. So if your TO, do you chop your team to keep Marner/ Matthews (ie Toews Kane) and potentially sink your team? Tough decision

I agree they are in the best position to do so but they have been pretty conservative in heir approach, they are still milling over Taylor Hall deal. Could be iffy but I’m no expert

Not saying they would or should do it, but Buffalo is actually in one of the best positions to make that offer if they wanted to.

And the answer to your question is "yes". The draft is tomorrow. They can't make the offer sheet until July 1.
