Not saying they would or should do it, but Buffalo is actually in one of the best positions to make that offer if they wanted to. - buffalofan19
This is all a ploy by Marner to get the best deal from Toronto. He doesn't want to leave and they aren't going to lose him. I wouldn't get involved, it's a waste of time.

They only lose their 2020 1st if they resign him, so technically, they could offersheer Marner (if that is what we are talking about?) - Lilroot9
They don't have a 2nd either which for the $11 million 4 year variety they would need to have |

They have no picks though they traded them for Duchene - Stripes77
Oh duhh...
I'd love to see a team like Colorado do it w/ all their cap but I think they only have like 20 skaters under contract next season. Rantenan, Zads, & Kerfoot about to take 20-22M of that 36M in cap space. |

If someone offer sheets him 6 for $13 million per year, A.) does he take it and B.) does Toronto match? - buffalofan19
A.) 100% he signs that
B.) Toronto (being in cap jail) may NOT match, depending on the team that signs him. If it was Buffalo, I would let the Sabres take him and hope they keep failing and get (4) more top 10 first rounders. If it was Boston (or team like that) I think they would match, due to 1st round picks being so late in first round. |

Random question for peeps smarter than me...
You have about 1K to spend on a brand new TV for your man cave (dim lighting)... Looking for at least 65-75" TV...
I don't understand all of the new 6Series, 7Series, 2180p etc.
What brands are you looking for vs avoiding? I see a few options from Samsung, LG, Vizio, Insignia, and Sony options.
Some brand called Sceptre has 65" for $400 and a 75" for $750. Probably good to avoid the cheapest ones even if it says HDR and 2180p?
Any help would be appreciated. |

The team that is in the best spot is actually New Jersey... they only have 2 players even signed past the next 2 years and 34M in cap space. Their only problem is that Nico, Butcher, and Hall will need new deals next year potentially. - JVince11
I was looking up NJ as you were posting this and thinking the same thing. If they can extend Nico on July 1st (I think that's the earliest they can) then Offer sheet Marner right afterwards. They add Hughes at the draft and they could recoup a 1st + by trading Hall if it's true that he doesn't plan on re-signing there.
The other teams I thought of were Vancouver or Islanders. |

Great force their hand.
Give Marner a deal that Toronto has to match. 11.5 x 5.
Then do Kapanen at 4.2 x 5 |

Michael Pachla: Draft weekend is a good time for trades. Some names in the rumor mill
Rasmus Ristolainen, Jimmy Vesey, PK Subban, Milan Lucic, Kyle Okposo, Jesse Puljujarvi, Jason Zucker all have been linked to, or might be of interest to, the Sabres - Michael Pachla
I like it all except Lucic. I get the toughness aspect, but Okposo at least has some upside. He might get hot again with the proper line mates. Never going to justify the cap hit. Matt Moulson 2.0 |

Toronto should match any offer and then trade Matthews to Arizona for Chychrun, Crouse a 1st and a 2nd. |

1080P is fine, you want the best refresh rate. I would stick with Sony but really LG & Vizio's are perfectly fine. In fact I have 3 TLC Roku Tv's in my house and the picture quality is perfectly fine.

Don't go within 1,000 miles of Sceptre.

What is your issue with it? Honestly wondering. You take on a bigger cap hit in Ryan, but for 3 less years than KO.
You add a defensive RD and 2 tough, defensive LD to pair with our 3 offensive Dmen. |

I have an LG and a Vizio.
No issues.
Samsung is a great brand, but has the added cost because of the name.
Insignia used to be the same parts as either Samsung or Westinghouse, but that was like 10 years ago when I worked at best buy. |

I've done a ton of research with this stuff in the last year as I upgraded my family room tv and also indoor and outdoor media areas. There's a lot to know.
Refresh rate matters more when gaming but not as much for non-gaming. Also, it gets muddy because manufacturers also have their own refresh rate metrics.
LG is generally the best when it comes to watching movies - the blacks are incredible (waiting for the jokes on that one). You can easily spend over 2k in their high-end sets (as I did) but I think you can get their lower sets (still very good!) closer to 1k.
You can't mess this up too bad unless you go to a low-end brand like sceptre. Consumer reports does a yearly report on tvs that is always excellent. If you don't want to spend too much time on this just go to best buy or stereo advantage and find one you like. Then go home and buy it online with free shipping and no tax. Onecall.com is a good place to start.
Have you thought about a projector? You can get a good one for around $850 and build a really nice screen for $150. I went in this direction in my indoor (115' screen) and outdoor (120' screen) areas and couldn't be happier. They also generally support 3d. |

Good info there... Thank you.
I'm not big on projectors and I can't do one in my basement space because of my football helmet display. I build all of my helmets and make them for customers as a side hobby. The wall is 27 feet long and 10 feet high and makes my 55" on there look like a microwave.
