No problem taking Podzy, but with the trade down factor. Ari traded up to get Soderstrom, it was there to take. And looking at rnd 2 who is availible still.

Passing on Boldy has me pretty damn disappointed but they deserve the benefit of the doubt with their last 2 first round picks looking so good.


I just feel like this guy's ceiling is a 2nd line winger while Boldy has 1st line winger upside.

We will find out in two years , but I am not going to worry about it. You have all the guys that follow prospects closely say he was a steal.

When I seen him he looked like high end skill and defensively responsible which you don't always see in young Russian forwards.

I was a bit too...then I heard his post draft interview...and it just gave me a total...braindead Virtanen vibe. Thought to myself ...whew dodged a bullet there

They drafted Kole Lind with an early 2nd rounder and he's cocky as hell. Benning has said that he wanted Kesler to say and didn't want to trade him but he asked for a trade, and Kesler is about and cocky as it gets.

As longs the guy isn't going to divide the locker room, it shouldn't be an issue. Isn't that why Benning brought in Sutter, Beagle, etc?

He's definitely not a typical Russian forward. He plays hard at both ends, is willing to fight for the puck, go to the net, is a decent young leader, etc.

I just wonder about his offensive upside, he flashes skill, but it's not consistent enough.

Just my two cents, I'm just a wannabe scout
