let edler walk.
trade a 4th for bracco & marleau
sign a couple bargain bin dmen with intangibles, grit and leadership to ship out at the tdl for picks.
it's not that difficult. - Tumbleweed
Edler is a solid Dman. Only 2 years is great. |

Weisbrod - โWe got an awful lot of balls in the air right now, if you do it through trade you can get pieces that have term left and control left.. free agent can be more of a frenzy... but weโre looking at both angles |

EP is a one timer threat from there... and from a more realistic distance than the old school wind up & hope it gets through or ricochets in from the actual blue line BS.
Never mind I think you were responding to something else... Iโm on like 3hrs of sleep so I probably make even less sense than usual today. - DrChristianTroy

Rathbone > OJ (who will be dealt in the Barrie trade - Rathbone makes an ideal partner for Barrie) ๐ฌ |

If they trade down, and no one falls, he'd probably be my pick out of the forwards ranked in the mid first round. - Nucker101
Very good chance of trading up |

Thereโs chatter that the #Canucks continue to seek a defenceman in the trade market. Team is also looking at moving out players that donโt fit in their plans going forward.
?????? - manvanfan
Thatโs like half the roster. Good luck! |

So, to summarise.
Might draft a D at #10, but might trade up, or trade down in the draft to target a forward, or a D.
Might move some players out, might make a trade.
Might explore free agency.
Glad we got Edler sorted out at least.

That's pretty much the only thing I would turn on Benning for. Well maybe not that far but depends on who they are trading up for. |

Nice to see the Edler deal was only 2 years. If term was the battle... very well done then. Battle won. If expansion protection was the battle... also a win. Edler's threat to walk really didnt have much leverage... looks like Edler took the take it or leave it final offer. |

Said it before & will say it again...
This offseason will be one of the most entertaining ever. Big trades & lots of movement. The e-draft is the motivation with an OS or 2 to also happen. |

Nucker, where is Sami Salo when you need him for that PP1 shot?
Probably injured somewhere. - golfingsince
You nailed it from a couple weeks back saying Sign Edler 2 years and give him the nudge nudge wink wink we will sign you again in two more years.

Nothing i post is ever permanent & the final solution. Itโs fluid & will continue to be so. Mostly i think upcoming drafts will further deepen our prospect pipeline but that takes time to do & evolve. - Nighthawk

I think both sides were fairly up front and adamant that they wanted to get a deal done.
Any talk of threats to walk were probably just folks on here who were calling him a POS for not accepting a trade last year, and stirred up by vague and unfounded media speculation. |
