I don't usually like getting into trade speculation because I have no idea what any team needs, is looking for or what they are willing to give up ..... but ..... Apparently the Canucks covet Bowen Byram. Would they trade Bo Horvat to the Hawk's for the #3 pick??
Horvat would be an amazing pickup, 24 years old, a very good 2 way player who is coming off a 27 goal season and has averaged 20 a season. He's a fierce competitor who is excellent in his own zone and is good on faceoffs. He's a known quantity and would obviously step right into the Hawk's lineup and he has a reasonable $5.5M cap hit for 4 more years. |

Straight up? Or do we also get their 10th overall pick? If we get their pick I’d probably do it. |

Unless the cache on my pc is failing, Wiz has gone full circle - Cozens @ #3. - Snakebit12
Don't know what to make with Cozens Sen he has been listed from 3 to as far back as 14 th in mock drafts |

Let him agitate all day and then turtle when someone wants to choke him to death. Don't care for his face either but it's his schtick, much like Shaw who would never shut his yap. I'll take the two minutes from guys who lose it.

It's a steal without their pick. |

Was thinking pretty much the same only at their 3rd round pick as well! |

I read the Frank Seravelli article on TSN about Corey Perry. He says he still has the fire and wants to play for a team that has a chance to win a cup. He said his knee had been an issue for a few years, and that now he is finally healthy. I would like to see him on the Hawks for 2 years at $4.5mil. But he could get more money or more term from other teams. He is not that old, just turned 34 in May. I wonder if his play could rub off on guys like Saad and Perlini. It would be nice to see them feed of his physical/nasty/mean style. I see him as a Pronger type. You hate to play against him. He is a jerk when on the other team, but a good guy when on your team. I imagine Kane, Toews, and ADB would not mind having him around. They might get a few less cheap shots. |

Despite the comments, I still wouldn't go after him even for a year. His numbers have been declining and knees don't get better with age. Of course he is going to say he is healthy but are you really going to rely on it holding up for a full season and playoff grind if they get there? |

Tyler Cameron: DRAFT DAY: Live Updates
Live blog following the Blackhawks selection of 3rd overall.
The draft, rumors and analysis will be included. - Tyler Cameron
First of all, thank you TC for your passion and commitment to keeping all of us hockey geeks in the know. You have worked relentlessly in providing the information that has created the conversations between a lot of passionate Blackhawk fans and we all truly appreciate it. Please keep up your dedication and commitment to excellence.
My thoughts on the draft.
It boils down to WHO the Hawks felt was the better driving force behind their 3 Cup run. Duncan Keith and his ability to dominate for almost 30 minutes a game, or Jonathan Toews in his leadership role as the Captain and #1 Center.
We all know as well that this could have never happened with Kane, Seabrook, Hossa, and Crawford, but when making this selection tonight, it'll all be about who can take take the next Hawk's team into yearly contenders again.
If they believe it was Keith, they'll take Bowen, if they believe it was Toews, they'll take Turcotte.
Hopefully they'll get it right.
My prediction.....Byron Bowen.

The Canucks wouldn’t do that straight up, let alone giving up the 10th. Pretty much a non-starter.
As great as Byram will be, not worth trading the 24 year old future captain for. |

Typically the knee injury such as his takes over a year after its heeled to really feel 100%. He does many things very well in front of the opponent's goalie, Kane Toews Perry, would look pretty good

Without Keith The Hawks probably get no cups. Without Toews the Hawks probably get no cups. Without Kane the Hawks probably get no cups. Without Hossa the cups probably get no cups. I think all four were equally important to the Hawks and of course you can't discount the contributions of Hammer, Seabrook, Bolland, Sharp, Crawford and others. I personally think a defenseman, especially one who is good in both ends is a more important component for any team. I hope they chose Byram but i think they'll choose Turcotte.

Is he good at both ends? Doesn’t seem to be a consensus on that. |

I agree, if they are saying Turcotte or people are hearing Turcotte, i believe it will be someone else, they are very good at doing this. |

I don't think I would do it even with the pick. It's a quality vs quantity thing. At #3, the Hawks should get either a #1 d-man or a #1C - Horvat is a nice player but he is not a #1C and the guy picked with #10 most likely is going to be a notch below the guy picked at #3.

He had MCL surgery. The first year is a little tough while strengthening and conditioning. But after that it is not unusual to fully recover from that and remain strong for years. |

Start with Stan asking for Petterson for the 3rd. When they say no, then ask for Horvat and the 10th for the 3rd. Ask big, then ask for a more reasonable trade. |

If his motivation is purely a chance to play to win - then he would sign for 1-year for minimum on a prove it deal. Not a chance I would do multi-year and you're out of your mind if you want to pay him $4.5M.

If I'm the Nuck GM there is no way i make that trade, BUT maybe a hometown kid and a position the team needs makes Benning approach the Hawks? |
|
|

When it comes to Karlsson, every team knows LVGK position, whoever trades for him will give up a 2nd round pick and a middling prospect.
I would make that offer to them for Tuch he would be a great add to this team |
