Jokiharju, Boqvist, Beaudin, Mitchell - one of them needs to step up and develop into a #1 defenseman.

I'm not convinced that one of these guys can't become a #1 D. I mean Duncan Keith was a second round pick. Who saw him as a future #1 D let alone a future Hall of Famer?

BUF did well to get Cozens at #7.

Excited to see the Getzlaf-esque Power Center with Skill this fall in Training Camp. IF he shows well enough for the 9 game tryout, he could be put in a position to succeed playing with Toews and/or Kane or against Lower QOC as 3rd line center.

Kudos to you Rico, you called Dach early this week when NOBODY had him on the radar at #3. I'm VERY Happy with this pick.

Hey Enzo hope the kid is decent. A big kid though and a center...

People are underestimating Boqvist, IMO. He won;t be a traditional #1 but he has the abilty.

See you in the lottery next year..... thanks blowman

Hilarious...

Nobody selected, or passed on, by the Hawks in this years draft will impact next season...or even two years from now.

The only way the 3rd pick would effect next years roster is if were traded for established talent.

Pair him with a Methot type like Ottawa did with Karlsson

So much for all mock drafts. Who had Seider and Broberg in the top-10?

That what pisses me off Byram was the pick as you can tell with the defencemen taken so far.

Tells me D-men are being over-valued. Dach is a good pick.

Could be worse. He could have gone completely off the board and taken a guy from the German league. lol
- Elbows15

Stan got it right size skill and Hockey IQ if he develops into a getzlaf that woild awesome. Plus he surrounded by hall of famers in which will make easier transition to being a pro.

Also if Stan picks another Dman what message does that send to some of our D prospects that getting close. And Centre depth is what wins cups.

Dach is going to be a very good NHL player.
