I still think my favorite UFA 2C is Marcus Johansson from Boston via Washington.

Dude is a very solid 45-55 point contributor, can play each wing in addition to center and is no worse in any of the 3 positions. He has no glaring weakness in his defensive game. He also contributed 4 goals and 11 points in 22 games for Boston in the playoffs and has had 20 and 27 goal years.

He is only 28... I think you could easily get him for a 3/4x5.75M range. Let him play that 2C for awhile maybe have Mitts on his wing and switch over after faceoffs but just learn from the guy some. Then at 5.75M he can easily be a 2LW/RW for us for the duration of his contract when Mitts is ready to be a 2C.

I just see it as a win win.

You're not "easily" getting Johansson. He really wants to stay in Boston, has said so, and also said if they want to keep him, something will be worked out.

It makes some sense if the preds take zaitsev.

The preds want to shed salary so they can get a centre. Kadri+Zaitsev for Subban? The dollars a pretty close

Just some rumblings on the Draft Floor. Chicago is really high on Kirby Dach. Buffalo loves Spencer Knight which doesn't make sense but that's the buzz. If Broberg gets to Edmonton, they will take him & the PK Subban to Leafs is REALLY heating up. Some I question but we'll see!

add Marleau's $6.25 that gets them right to $14 million

So Marner gets $10-11

They can go a bit over the cap during the off season. Johnsson and brown(2.1 mil) are probably gone.

5D+ 1 of Rosen, Liljegren or whomever.
