Do you guys think the draft would be more exciting and more beneficial to the NHL if the age to get drafted was 20? That way they would be more NHL ready with body size and maturity. |

No because they have more wear and tear on them |

I am now seeing scouts saying that Johnson is a “one man breakout machine” and a beast in his own end. Very confident with the puck and in his own zone. |

Nobody in the organization cares about sucking at scoring goals so why should the fans? We need more defensive forwards and D. Just got to be really good in shootouts. - Hatboro_Swords
They were bad at every thing last year. How does that factor into a pick that's 3 years away from helping?

But don’t 90 percent of the players drafted spend at least a couple of season playing college, juniors or AHL anyways? |

I like the constant D men picks.
Defensemen are valuable.
Nashville has become a contender by constantly drafting them and hitting on a few.
This is good.
Now you can move a Samuelson or another D prospect in a deal |

You mean like how they reached for Watkins? Bills had a great draft. Wide receiver is a tough position. If they are studs then you get to deal with the drama queen\diva personalities. I like what they did for wide receiver this off season. - c1067
Sammy had all the skill but he LITERALLY THINKS THE WORLD IS FLAT. His IQ is probably 1 quotient above legally retarded. You have to interview these guys before you draft them. The second I heard Watkins open his mouth I knew he was beyond dumb. Dumb can get you by in college because no one plays defense but in the NFL you actually have to know how to think. And that guy cannot think if he truly believes that the world is flat.

So many 18/19 year olds contributing now, just doesn't seem right. The CHL rules need some work. |

When asked if he thinks he can be in the NHL right away, Cozens was modest: “If I’m privileged enough to and they want me to play, I believe I’ll be ready for it. If not, I’ll go back to Lethbridge and I’ll lead that team there.”

So we’ll get excited for him and it turns out he’s really not that good and he will be traded before he even makes the roster? |

The problem with the Sabres isn’t the draft, but development in my opinion. |

So Ryan Johnson’s comparison is Victor Mete - gerbe75pts
I saw that but you didn’t tell the whole thing.
That was style alone and specifically said not skill or talent. |

I think more of them would head over Seas to be more ready for the NHL then play against kids and that could be a huge problem injury’s etc |

Nobody they picked today was gonna help this team this season.
Also with all the damn trades today (sarcasm) looks like any player trades will happen like they did a few years ago right around July 1st
Might see a few depth deals tomorrow though. |

To stay ahead of the curve. Actually to just bring a little balance to their farm system. |

Nashville BECAME a contender, for one season. They can't even get past the second round other than that literal ONE year where they did.
Nashville are NOT a contender. They are a solid team that should make the playoffs but the ONE year they made a run they traded for PK Subban that year and made a run...
So their drafting hasn't gotten them anywhere except for when they traded their franchise player, whom they drafted, Shea Weber for PK Subban.
Nashville has shown no signs of contending other than that one anomaly year. |

It is very commonly believed that Nashville and Tampa Bay have been the best drafting teams in hockey for quite a few years. I know Boston is up there too. |

And aside from Boston, look where all that wonderful drafting has gotten Nashville and Tampa... Two teams built for the regular season in different ways but fizzle out in the playoffs except that one year where a 76 year old Duane Roloson carried Tampa on his back and that other year where PK Subban lit a fire under Nashville's organizational ass and led them to the cup finals.
And even Boston couldn't win and got taken to 7 games by a team that was literally the worst team in hockey 6 months ago.
